Question for johnbaz, I have an fx cyclone which cosmetically is in vgc, but the cylinder leaks, and a surface bottle which again is in vgc but needs a 5 year pressure check. Is there any market for selling something like this privately, or is it just easier to sell to a dealer and take a hit on the price?
HiSorry, I missed your question, You could try listing it on Gunstar or join a forum such as the Airgun BBS and list the kit in their sales forum, They can be a bit touchy though when someone joins and then sticks gear up for sale on the first post! They like folk to introduce themselves first!!
I feel sure you wouldn't have any problem selling it as from what i've read about the FX, They're quiite a well regarded piece of kit
Cheers, John
Managed to totally miss this thread in the past.
Regular shot, on Game during the season (Syndicate spot between Newbury and Hungerford) and out of season a fair amount of Pigeons and Clay Pigeons.
Talking of Bisley - I went for the first time for a corporate day last Friday and was impressed with the sporting Clay arrangement, great high tower for driven and some nice game simulations which was ideal pre season. Its a funny old place Bisley with the mix of buildings and clubs but the clay facilities looked first class.

I'd like to recommend Atkins Grant & Lang aka Broomhills shooting ground in Markyate, excellent service and tuition, try before you buy, and good prices relative to other gun dealers in the south. I may become a member there, or their sister-company the Oxfordshire Shooting School... Anybody got any feedback on the latter?

Was a member of Broomhills years back. Enjoyed going mideweek and being able to shoot alone.AGL are improving the place no end, but I cant afford to shoot regulalrly enough to improve these days.
Its a good ground with plenty to shoot, cant comment on Oxford, but I never got on with that Doug there.
Doug and Shirley at Oxford are definitely "unique", but they really know their stuff and add to the charm of the place. Always enjoyed shooting there, good varied layout and when accompanied the staff are always very professional. I bought my Browning 525 from them a couple of years ago and they could not have been more helpful.

Other reasons why I love America:-
Shot these:-
But because the Russian RPD was FUBAR, went for the lovely SAW.
And the VEPR fully auto 12 gauge- bonkers!
And lastly, the anti material M107 Barrett .50 cal
Epic way to spend an afternoon. Miss my own FAC so much

When you put your shotgun in its cabinet do you break it down and also face the barrels downwards or do you put it on it’s butt?
Thanks,
Guns should be barrel down in a cabinet. it prevents oil in the barrel getting back into the receiver and ultimately into the wood work. When you put your shotgun in its cabinet do you break it down and also face the barrels downwards or do you put it on it’s butt?

Interesting. I don't put that much oil in it really. Just clean the barrel with a brass thing on a stick and wipe it (and the ejectors etc) down with an oily rag.RedLeicester said:

New types have been developed but the cartridge envelope remains the same. Their ballistic characteristics may vary, but the range tables will be known to the user.mybrainhurts said:

A dyslexic moment, I read it as "did they change the cartridge".

I think Wobbly knows more than you think since he was popping .50 tracer at hard targets out to 1100 yds in Kent just last week. 50 cal ball is about £2.50 a go but tracer is more than twice that - would also be interested in how much it cost over there. Feeding an M99 is not cheap...On the other hand, if you did not understand what I said, you don't need to know.
