Well after my conversation last week I emailed my acquisition last night and a phone call this morning to let me know that my security will be checked next Wednesday.

I prefer it when they don't. You can blame the gun then.

On going through the belongings of my recently deceased Grandfather we came across a couple of spring-piston air rifles.

They are quite old - I'd guess at least 30 years, probably more!

They aren't the same they are:

1. The Birmingham Small Arms Co Ltd "Cadet" .177 air rifle
2. Jaguar Webley & Scott Ltd (believe it's a .177 air rifle)

They appear to work fine, however I haven't yet shot them (no ammo found!).

My Grandmother has no need for them - she's certain she doesn't want to go on a squirrel shooting spree and would like to sell them if possible.

What's the best place to do so?

My certificate renewal has now been in the system for 6 months now..

No change of address, security etc. Just a straight forward renewal. I have been issued a temp permit to cover buying ammunition but cannot buy/sell transfer guns. Wasn't planning to but nice to have the option.

Had SGC application in with Lancashire for two months now.

Cheque has not been cashed and no contact or confirmation of receipt of application.

The Met are by far the best in the country for timings on SGC or FAC....mate has just submitted his to Hertfordshire and has been given 9-12 week time frame.

My SGC application has been with TVP for a few months now, i emailed them last week to see if there is an approximate timescales, but no reply yet, and i understand they're having some delays. They cashed the cheque within days though hehe

I've got a cabinet being installed this week, so all prepared when they want to inspect, and then my eye on a couple of imminent purchases... i headed the advice in this thread and acquired a cabinet larger than you would normally expect smile

Anyway forget all that. I'm spending my money already looking for a scope for a 308 budget around £500

These look,like real value

Met security visit this morning.

Said between 7am-1pm. Turned up at 6:58. Had a look round. Poked his head in the loft and asked me to give the cabinet a tug.

Left by 7:15 and I was on my way to work.

Good job Met.

Hi Pesty, have a look at Vortex as well, I know lots of shooters that use their scopes. I have one of their red dots on my Smith .22 and it's superb vfm.
