For 2 gun competitions and general practical/mini-rifle shooting with turning targets etc.

The scope is possibly a bit overkill, but Vortex have struck an amazing price/quality balance.

I am waiting for my FAC to come through, (nearly three months!) and am unsure whether to get one of these or a tricked out 10/22 as I will be using it for both practical and hunting these seem to have the best features for mini rifle but I don't know what the long range accuracy holds up against a Rim fire Magic 10/22?

I'll report back on accuracy tomorrow, I'm sure it's no tack driver but they aren't rubbish either.

Easy. Get 2 rifles. One for practical/fun, which AR15 22's are good for, and get a 10/22 setup for bunny bashing. For the a 10/22 for that purpose, the accuracy out of the standard barrel isn't great at long range, which you can go and replace to improve. Or you can get a Target model which had a better barrel ticks that box without having to change anything.

Providing I get everything I ask for I will have 7 guns on my ticket, plus my two shotguns I already have, cabinet space and money is becoming a limiting factor!

Well I got to shoot it last night and got it zeroed in. I'm quite happy with the accuracy. It was happily punching holes inside a 1" dot at 25 yards and that's plenty good enough for my purposes. I get on quite well with the Magpul flip up sights too, easy to adjust and nice to use, certainly not junk.
The trigger on mine is pretty good too, no grittiness and a nice short pull. Should be even better with the lighter spring kit installed.

Cool. Did it come with the ceracote or did you have that done to order? How much n where from (if you don't mind me asking?)

It all came from Riflecraft. They did the cerakote in house for free as part of the deal. The rifle on its own is £690.

Hypothetical question...if you woke up to find an intruder in your house (in the UK), would you go to your gun safe?

yes. I think I'd pick the semi auto

not sure which cartridge

that said in London I have a third floor flat with 1 way in, which is a steel reinforced door. so no chance !

in somerset we've had people walking around our grounds before, but they are usually lost / poachers

No. I will kill them with something 'household-ish' as I think it'll go down better in court. wink
