That was right at the start of his career....still he was never, ever the same bowler. He would have been a genuine 90 mph plus bowler without that injury. Unsung hero of the 2005 Ashes, his ability to reverse swing the ball mid-innings was key to that victory.

do we think the aussies will bat better than they bowl or vice-versa?
I think a cheeky £20 on them not scoring >300 in any ashes test innings this summer feels like a good bet....not sure what odds I'll get like...
Depends on whether Clarke is fit. I reckon there bowling is better than their batting. You should get very good oddds on that bat.I think a cheeky £20 on them not scoring >300 in any ashes test innings this summer feels like a good bet....not sure what odds I'll get like...
Has a certain Mickey Arthur had a little too much to drink ?

Good to see he has faith in his players - well at least the ones that get their homework in on time.
Not surprised he was sacked just the timing of it. No doubt Lehman will make a good coach but it's a bit unfair parachuting him into an imploding, under performing squad with the ashes just days away.
I suppose if he's over in the UK with the Australia A squad, he is at least a bit more involved than someone from back home.

Wtf are CA playing at? Sacking the coach at this point is the kind of thing you would expect from an England team back in the day. If they wanted to sack him then surely you do it before you leave Aus?
More blind panic measures from the Aussies.
Seems an odd time to do it, i doubt it was ever a plan to sack him after the champions trophy regardless of the results. I wonder if there is something new that has happened to trigger it. It's a tough gig for Lehman having to go straight into the ashes with an unsuccessful setup left over from someone else. More blind panic measures from the Aussies.

Much prefer be able to support Australians, win or lose, than ringers coached by ringers.
Good move.

Win or lose with what you've got. The end.
Anyway, in any event I hope at least one or two games don't get rained off and there is some entertaining cricket to watch.
Whilst I think John goes a bit far at times, Ive got some sympathy with the notions of expecting fans to be happy with you hiring a coach from one of your arch rivals. I wouldnt be bloody happy at all with an Aussie coaching England, esp heading into the Ashes. I know we've had bowling coaches who were Aussies etc and hired Donald as a bowling coach, but the head job? No. Fletcher and Flower? Bit of a mixed call, there is a long long tradition of Zim's turning out for England, I can square that one away. A full on Bok coach of England...Id be a bit annoyed about that.
