Are there any Exeter fans on here going to Twickenham on Saturday?
They created a great atmosphere last time I saw them play Quins at the Stoop, so it would be nice to see if they can do the same again on Saturday, even if it does mean I have to remind my lads who we support from time to time when they start joining in with the Red Indian chants!

The second half was a bit less thrilling although there was always the feeling that the Chiefs might stage a bit of a come-back.
Just back from the Tigers match - Owen Williams is one to watch.
Thought he filled Floods boots admirably today, especially in the first half.
Now, can someone please shed some light onto what is or is not deemed a forward pass?
For the Tigers second try I was bang in line of play, the ball was thrown on a long pass toward the wing from which we scored a try.
From where I, and everyone around me could see, that pass went a bloody mile forward.
The ref went to the TMO and indeed gave a try - I'm not sure if the ref wanted the TMO to look at the pass or something else, but a try was given.
The conversation around me was about the forward pass, one or two people were saying that the officials now look at the direction of the hands as the ball is passed - even if the hands went backwards and the ball goes forwards then it's a forwards pass surely?!
Have the rules changed?
What do I tell the kids on a Sunday - that as long as it looks like your hands go back you can chuck the ball forwards?

Tackled a ref about this, so to speak, after a match I videoed. I was in line with the passer and the receiver had actually just passed me, blocking my view of the passer's hands. The ref said that he would have needed to see the passer's hands before he could say whether it was a forward pass or not.Thought he filled Floods boots admirably today, especially in the first half.

So that showed that I have absolutely no idea of the law.
I can understand the reasons behind extending the law beyond going level or behind the passer, but it should be clearer.

Our seats were between the try line and the 22 in the North East corner, so all the first half action was at the other end! The second half was a bit less thrilling although there was always the feeling that the Chiefs might stage a bit of a come-back.
Particularly frustrating was Quins' decision to put the gap beyond two converted tries with less than 10 minutes to go rather than kicking to the corner in front of us to try for the bonus point. If they finish 5th by a single point at the end of the season, that may well be the moment.....

I believe they look at the hands to determine if the ball was launched backwards - it will still travel forwards when passed by a player running fast, hence the hands are considered to determine the intended trajectory.Thought he filled Floods boots admirably today, especially in the first half.
