Its not sounding like an old fuddy duddy, its sounding like a 'reasonable person'. McEnroe (on Wimbledon 2day, a few days ago) said its about time tennis stopped being so up itself and let players be players 'just like in other sports' I believe was his phrase.
Well...if he had behaved like that in rugby, he would be invited by the referee to take a seat for 10 minutes, and in cricket he would probably have forfeited the match fee...in fact the only sport I can think of where players are allowed to act like free range toss pots is football!
He had a good year last year, and because of this (and because he is still a kid) he has decided he is a billy big b
ks and can do what he likes. Hopefully Australia Tennis will take the time to teach him some manners! Glad I'm not in the minority in regards to Kyrgios - the man is a weapons grade bellend. What really grinds my gears is the commentators/ pundits making excuses for his idiocy by calling him a 'character' or other such cliches. Since when did childish petulance constitute character? I find someone like Djokovic or Nadal to have for more interesting on court personas - their utter indomitability (didn't get that one correct first time!) and will to win is far more engaging than some over entitled man child having a tantrum.

Gasquet was pure class throughout that match. I'm not averse to an occasional outburst from a player, even Nadal has managed it once or twice but it is there is a way to vent frustration and not be personally insulting or derogatory to those around you as he has been throughout.bexVN said:
They explained there was more urgency to complete the other match due to it being on a Sat pm (and no play on the Sunday) It will be easy to fit this match into the schedule tomorrow.
Thanks for the clarification - it didn't make a huge difference in the end because they completed their match reasonably quickly today.Dawn Fraser, former Australian swimmer and Olympic gold medalist, has said that if Tomic and Kyrgios cannot behave properly then they should “go back to where their parents came from”.
