Graf has 22 major titles, Court has 24 - I wonder what the odds are on Serena getting to 25 - she's just won her 21st. She's going to be 34 in August but she doesn't seem to be slowing down physically.
Court isn't really a fair comparison is she? Didn't she win nearly half her slams over in Australia at a time when most of the best players refused to travel and play there. And given what happened to Monica Seles and how that helped Graf one could make a pretty strong argument for Serena already being the GOAT. If she wins the US open, completes the golden slam and ties the record I think it is beyond debate she is the GOAT. But even if that doesn't happen I would imagine you couldn't get odds on Serena beating Graf's record, she only needs 2 more and barring some kind of horrific injury or mental breakdown it is impossible to see her not winning 2 more in the next 2 years or so.
Not to mention the 15 doubles slam titles she holds as well...... Graf has 1 IIRC.

Come on Rog.
Disagree with the backhand comment as well, against Novak if you go big too soon then it seems to give the opening to Novak so he's trying to construct the point which seems to be working. Also Fed has the same swing on the short slice so it keeps Novak guessing and when Fed plays the short one it creates that opening.
Just like the last couple of points, Fed went big down the line and unless it's a near clean winner leave the crosscourt forehand open to Djokovic and then Feds on the back foot.

Wawrinka would disagree with that. Federer's backhand was sublime against Murray, not so great today though. He struggles with it against Nadal too but I suppose that is more down to the ball bounce height.Disagree with the backhand comment as well, against Novak if you go big too soon then it seems to give the opening to Novak so he's trying to construct the point which seems to be working.
The 2nd set tie breaker was absolutely fantastic tennis. I watched it twice whilst the match was still on.
The Serbian is an incredible player, you have to let your heart rule rather than your head though to give him all the credit he deserves.
Slightly worryingly for the others I think he's going to get a bit better also before peaking.

He wins too many points from the mistakes of others for me to respect him in the same way as Federer etc, but he is an astounding player and I think you're right about him having scope to improve. His consistency, with a fair amount of brilliance too, is what won him the game today. The Serbian is an incredible player, you have to let your heart rule rather than your head though to give him all the credit he deserves.

Spot on summary, in my view. Too many errors by Fed on both sides, but many the backhand. It's one thing missing shots when you are going for winners, but Fed missed many routine backhands to give 'Joker' too many free points.
Most of the errors are forced errors though; they are not 'free' points to Novak, Novak has basically earned them by intimidating Federer into going for too much. The main difference between Novak and Murray is that Novak has the ability to hit the ball within about 2 feet of the baseline on a consistent basis and is able to do the same on returns - this puts massive pressure on Roger. Murray dropped the ball shorter which allowed Federer to attack with more confidence and made him look better than he actually was. It is all about the match up really... playing Novak is a terrible match up for Roger because there is no weak area to attack... even on the second serve today Novak managed to come up with some incredible serves well into the 100mph+ range.
Fed was lucky to win a set... terrible second set tie breaker allowed him into the match but after that Novak was water tight.
