Just realised that Nadal has pulled out of he tournament due to injury. Whilst he's been quite poor on grass for a number of years now it's still a shame that we won't be seeing him here.

Looking at the draw, if everything goes according to seeding we will have Djokovic-Federer and Murray-Wawrinka in the semis.

Feel sorry for Jamie Ward. Up against Djokovic in the first round, harsh!!

Great story from Court 17 - Marcus Willis - 772 in the world - beats world no 54 Berankis 6-3 6-3 6-4, and will face Federer in R2 (assuming Fed wins his match).

Willis has won less than 50 quid in prize money this year and now he's guaranteed 50k.

Really good match. Willis was playing a decent game, great watch, though he will have really improve his 1st serve % against Federer.

I see Evans is through. Good to see Ward made a bit of a game of it in the second set but predictable result for him in the end.

Fair play to Ward. When he was 6-0 3-0 down I thought Djokovic would steamroller him but he made a decent match of it after.

The Willis result was fantastic and good on Ward for pulling back the way he did after the 6-0 first set in his match as that could easily have continued. Shame he couldn't grab the 2nd set.

Quite enjoyed watching Giorgi - Muguruza earlier today. Muguruza seemed a bit shocked with how it went as I think she was probably hoping for a slightly quicker / easier game, but Giorgi put up a decent fight even though she sadly couldn't hold out.

I also felt sorry for Laura Robson. I was really hoping she could pull a decent result off, but sadly it wasn't to be frown Hopefully she'll continue to get some more matches in and get back to the form she had before her wrist injury smile

Hopefully there will be good results for the Brits in action tomorrow smile

Yes and no - at least he got to sample playing against the World No. 1... Of course it's a shame he couldn't have stayed longer in the tournament, but he's only going to improve by playing the top players.

I wonder how many sets we'll get in the Murray match... 4?

yes

Left work just at the start of the 3rd set. It was cracking up to that point.

That is true but apparently he expressed a few expletives when he found out! (can't say I blame him!)

Lots of rain forecast for today so outside of centre court we're not going to see a lot of play.

Decided to have a small bet on an outsider for the ladies title and think Coco Vandeweghe may go quite far in the tournament.

He may be two sets down, but Willis is playing some lovely shots.

But Federer is a different class.....

Fair play to him, I think he gave a good account of himself

Hopefully he can use it as a platform to get in shape and start competing at a higher level more often. Seems a nice chap.

Nice to see him genuinely gutted at the end, you can't fake that kind of competitiveness but it was equally nice he seemed to enjoy the match up to the end too.

It was quite the example of just how fit the top guys are, RF could reach shots Willis never would get near but I really hope he takes every opportunity that comes his way after this.

I was really hoping he would win so they could keep showing his girlfriend. He has done well.

Yep. Caught the interview he gave on Today At Wimbledon and he seems like a genuinely nice guy who deserves a second shot after getting himself straight.

It was a decent game, good humoured game as well.

Good to see Konta break her first round Jinx and get through to the next round. Hopefully Heather can also get it back when her game resumes as the second set seemed to really get away from her before her opponents injury and the eventual weather suspension.

Blimey, Muguruza had a bad game this afternoon. Didn't expect that result. Another Brit for Federer in the shape of Dan Evans in the next round.

Gutted for Heather this morning, just couldn't hold out. Although I did enjoy her calling out a couple of the press, in the after game interview, who appeared to be trying to annoy her even more than she clearly already was, with regards to referencing the Twitter trolls and reading their messages after her loss. To which point she pretty much asked whether they'd ever done anything stupid or self masochistic in their own lives as a way of punishment when something had gone wrong.

Edit - Just realised Dustin Brown is playing Kyrgios in his next match. That should be a good one for shotplay smile

Troicki raging at the umpire was an entertaining watch too hehe
