On centre court on Thursday and it was coming from all directions; I do wonder how many shots of Serena you need!
You'd be surprised how many attempts it takes to get a good shot in a non-controlled environment! The fast shutter cameras are usually quite uncomfortably loud.
Unless they are using film aren't the shutter sounds on digital SLRs artificially produced, so can't they be asked to turn them off, or turn the volume down?

Some lovely words from Billy Jean King re: Andy Murray, very complimentary of his game, though only if he stays with the match in his head, fair point!

When can we discuss the women's final! Don't want to give spoilers.
I thought BJK was spot on about Murray. I have long thought Andy actually has the most complete game of the 'big 4' players but it is his head that lets him down in big matches. If you analyse Djokovic's game and Murray's game Andy has significant advantages in power and net play but he nearly always bottles it in the big moments.

I hope Venus is going to win the doubles, I would like to see her win something again.... at 36 with an auto immune condition, what an achievement that would be.

Well that's 2 Brits on Centre tomorrow now clap Get in there Heather woohoo What a way to turn your bad luck around in the first round to get to the mixed doubles final. Just need to win it now smile

Pleased for Serena getting #22. Hopefully the doubles will follow this evening too - it's certainly a good game at the moment smile

I reckon it will be a close 5 setter for both Murray & Raonic tomorrow.

Heather played some great shots (as did her colleague) deserves that final.

Great women's doubles match at present. I have to admire the Williams sisters, after all these years and both still on top. Deserved win today for Serena and even though it was two sets they were a good two sets.

I don't think so. The shutter inside is physically moving to open and close to allow the sensor to take the photo.

You can put them on 'quiet' mode but that doesn't mute them completely. Having a camera on quiet will also reduce FPS and other features.

This will be a comfortable win for Murray imo - as soon as Murray starts reading the Raonic serve the Canadian will find it difficult to compete.

Murray breaks. Not sure why he feels the need to externalise to the box/ crowd so much. Such a difference to watching Borg back in the day.

It feels like Andrew Castle spends as much time spotting 'celebrities' in the crowd as he does commentating on the actual tennis.

I think it's his way of keeping his head in the game (when he stops doing it he is not focusing on the game properly) it is just the way he does it.

Not sure why so many people want a grumpy bad tempered tennis player to win, just from where he lives?

Very strange....

How disheartening must it be to serve at 147 mph and see it come straight back at you.

most of the noise is the mirror flipping up / down ... then there's the noise of the actual shutter...

Well played Murray - the scoreline flatters Raonic because he never looked likely to get a foothold in this match.
