Decimal point may be wrong place. I think it's 4% isn't it?

Just read what I wrote, you're right.

That's a reasonable descent.

I can't see there being any significant differences in time between Contador and Froome tomorrow, in fact I have a feeling Bertie will run Froome very close with J-Rod and Quintana suffering a loss, but not huge. TTs are always very interesting after a rest day, depends who's recovered the best from a week's hard racing.
Quintana has been making good.progress on his time trialing abilities. I don't think he'll lose too much time as well :-)

Don't forget Uran.

Wouldn't be surprised if Malori went well; and Walwerde is Spanish TT champion...

I'm going to say Froome will do Nario for 44 seconds, and Bertie for 28. And will win the stage.

Any more predictions? smile

I think he'll take more than that. Bert's TTing has been distinctly average since he came back from his beef holiday. Quintana remains an unproven quantity at this level. I think at least a minute on Contador and a minute and a half on Quintana. Be interesting to see how the Spanish TT champ goes after his shocker in the TDF.

I was being conservative, as Bertie looks like he's probably filth and Quintana may have done some work on his position etc...

Quintana is actually OK at time trials. I think he won the ITT in the Giro earlier so can compete at grand tour level.

This course might suit him too, therefore I would expect him to do well and sustain minimal losses.

AC looks strong, but I think Valverde might outdo him.

I'm not sure on froome, don't think he will do as well as he normally does.

Let's not forget Tony Martin, he's in with a chance for the stage today as well.

Sorry, I forgot Martin was riding. He will win the stage, think Cancellara will be pushing for a podium spot too given they're both using this as prep for the worlds.

Lets not forget that over half this stage is downhill, I can't see that it suits quintana at all.

The Giro TT was a mountain TT. You would expect him to go well. If he doesn't get handed his arse today I'd be surprised.

^^ valid points chaps. But it does go up a bit too. If tony martin can get up the climb OK, my money is on him for the stage win. It depends how bad he wants it but, I would imagine OPQS would want to do well regardless.

Re. Quintana we will soon found out how well he does smile he seemed confident when I read his comments the other day.

Not sure on Fab - seems to have lost his drive or something[different goals] these days. He just can't beat Tony Martin!

the Vuelta has turned out to be a really exciting race. I like when there is multiple riders in contention.

A fair few others fell off yesterday too, and same goes for the tour, just that Froome was the only household name...

I doubt he's a st bike handler, after all he has crashed a handful of times in a lot of racing days, I think he just gets a lot of stick as he is a big name.
Haha, yes you raise a fair point. He does look at his stem when he rides though. We need someone to post that clip of him and his stem again!
Here you go... Clip number 3, Sort of!! hehe

What's the betting Roger Hammond had seen this (posted on Youtube 2 weeks ago) before making his comment?

I really hoped not, but having seen close up photos of him recently - how can you be that young with a face like a discarded leather sandal? Something's not right there.
