Even if Cancellara blows away Voigt's time, its nice to see some genuine excitement about the hour record. (assuming either of them beat the current record of course).
Its a nice way for Jens Voigt to retire though.
As has been said earlier, Tony Martin doing this would be pretty interesting.

My mistake. I thought Sosenka had the absolute record, when he in fact holds the athletes hour whilst smacked off his tits. I agree that certainly Obree, and almost certainly Boardman were clean.
If you followed Boardman's career he openly admitted that he could stay with most of the TDF elite in the high mountains for a day but his recovery just didn't allow him to do the same thing two or three days in a row. Evidence if it where needed that he was clean in an era that was not.neilr said:

It tends to be a bookend for a career though so we may have to wait a few years for him to attempt it. It would be great if this ignited a whole new slew of attempts at the Hour. Its a nice way for Jens Voigt to retire though.

Yes yes. We heard you the first 6 times. He said 'almost certainly clean' what more do you want?
Almost is not total is it. It's so easy to be dismissive and negative isn't it. If you want to dismiss someone's character with a casual remark then don't be surprised if someone takes exception when they know what they are talking about. The rest of the peleton you can have a pop at I have no idea who was drugged up at that time. Thanks for your version of things. But we don't know you from Adam. So don't r surprised if people don't take your word as gospel.
And at no point did he say anything negative about CB. Just that nobody knows anything for sure. Apart from them. But yes I would imagine he was squeaky clean.

Obviously I don't have the benefit of having spent 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with him as you evidently have to be absolutely certain he's clean. I stick to my original assertion. To suggest you know better is frankly horsest. You can't possibly.
ETA You are familiar with how the internet works aren't you?

^ perhaps. It seems contador doesn't underestimate froome. He seems him as a big threat.
We'll have a good idea how good froome is and whether contador can hold on by the end of tomorrow's stage.
Today could be decisive and Contador has played the mind games well from the start ,but to be honest I thought Froome was dead and buried after the TT.We'll have a good idea how good froome is and whether contador can hold on by the end of tomorrow's stage.
Contador will probably just shadow Froome now till the finish.

Real gutsy ride by Froome yesterday, not pretty but dug very deep!
Contador might just have a big enough time gap to keep CF at bay.
He's only got a minute and a bit and it's an awful long way to go. My gut feel is that Contador has the edge, but that's certainly more debatable than it was this time yesterday. Contador might just have a big enough time gap to keep CF at bay.
