Am i the only one watching The Giro with a raised eyebrow?
I'm prettty sure the UCI vowed to strip them of a license due to vast cheatery. Now, they're properly dominating the Giro. Feels wrong.
Makes me not bother any more, Astana doing well Contador leading the GC it's like watching WWF or some other pantomime farce. It's disappointing after FatPat got the boot, I thought things would change a bit more.I'm prettty sure the UCI vowed to strip them of a license due to vast cheatery. Yep, I can't help but feel that with all the Astana riders that got busted over the winter, a little miffed when one of their (ageing) domestiques does so well and the team as a whole seem to be on blinding form.I'm prettty sure the UCI vowed to strip them of a license due to vast cheatery. Now, they're properly dominating the Giro. Feels wrong.

The Guy who won yesterday did so by riding away from his fellow escapee. He had only won 3 previous races and now at the age of 37 he wins a stage of the Giro with two more of his team mates not far behind him in the major break of 4 including the favourites.I'm prettty sure the UCI vowed to strip them of a license due to vast cheatery. What is it that Astana are doing that has made them so strong.

Hmm the question is what are they not doing them makes them so strong What is it that Astana are doing that has made them so strong.
That said, the four major favorites could afford to let him go he isn't a threat to the GC.

So when did you enjoy watching professional cycling? The sport has been rotten to the core for years. If there ever was a clean era I must have blinked.
there was a story of a bloke in the TDF getting a train in the early days. Is there any professional sport that is not " bent" in some way.We have just heard about a ball being delfated in American Football.mcelliott said:

I know it has. I have watched it since 2001 and have put up with it in the past. It's worn a bit thin now though. I used to have a bit of hope. ewenm said:

Big loss for Porte, struggling to hold his team mates wheel as well.
And now given an extra 2min penalty by the commissaires for receiving illegal assistance...Edit - ah yeah I see - taking help from green edge. Whoops!

I wouldn't blame Sky to pull out and tell RCS were to go.... Jobsworths.

What a great way to recognise first class sportsmanship! That may be the rules but the rules clearly need changing.
And earlier the organisers had tweeted about 'sportsmanship'. The 'rules are rules' defence is laughable....Have they ever thought of the 'bigger picture'? Obviously not.... I wouldn't blame Sky to pull out and tell RCS were to go.... Jobsworths.
In the cold light of a 5:30am start today, I have less sympathy for Porte. He had a teammate with him but accepted a wheel from a rival team - presumably so his teammate could pace him back. The rule they (the 2 Australians) broke is very clear.
However, it frustrates me that the rules aren't applied consistently - was anyone penalised in Paris-Roubaix for the level crossing incident? I guess this is the problem with having race commissaires interpreting and applying the rules as they see fit, rather than a team of UCI referees independent of the race who can consistently apply the rules across races.
