Well done Brad what a star. Lets see who fancies a go at that.
Tony Martin Fabian Cancellara
Alex Dowsett
I think as the record is under 55, there will be people who fancy themselves to beat Wiggins time especially with more favourable meteorological conditions.

Chris Boardman's 'record' is the next target, but only likely to be achieved at altitude
'Boardman, who recorded a distance of 56.375km in September 1996 in the now-outlawed aerodynamic 'Superman' position'
Not that we're ever like to see it but tt'd be interesting to compare figures of drag and power from Boardman's attempt vs Wiggins, air pressure too.'Boardman, who recorded a distance of 56.375km in September 1996 in the now-outlawed aerodynamic 'Superman' position'
I've got to feel that with advances in aerodynamics we're not far from where they were in 96.

Johan Bruyneel is in the inner circle with accreditation on - way to go UCI nice one. So much for a life ban how pathetic. Also Pat McQuaid and David Millar in there - a rogues gallery of dopers
Well spotted! Did not go unnoticed http://www.stickybottle.com/latest-news/banned-bru...
And so it begins....
man at work "what did Wiggins do this weekend?"
pablo "he set a new distance record for cycling in an hour"
maw "it wasnt that far was it"
pablo "it was 54.5 kms or about 33 miles"
maw "doesnt seem that far for an hour"
pablo "he averaged 33mph for an hour....."
maw "hmmm, its still not that fast, if i found a steep hill i could do that"
pablo "if you found a 33 mile long steep hill you could yes....."
cant wait for le tour to start and the stuupid questions to come round again!....

Do Tony and Fabian care enough to bother though?

I suspect that most people don't comprehend just how difficult that was. What do you reckon his average power was? 420W or there abouts? Most people would do well to hold that for a minute.man at work "what did Wiggins do this weekend?"

Sir Bradley Wiggins insists that he will not settle for second best when he attempts to break the UCI Hour Record on Sunday evening, admitting anything less than a new record will be a failure.
I think it goes without saying that anything less than a new record will be a failure to beat the record... Gassing Station | Sports | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
