It isn't because she is a nobody and it's dull. Worthy, but dull.
Lance has been holding some kind of press junket I think out in Texas as Matt Dickenson for The Times had a side article also and he explicitly makes the point that those asking why bother reporting about Armstrong now don't realise - the Armstrong story will still be talked about in 100yrs.
But its quite tragic that Lance has to call these press conferences, and that they are now an annual affair in the weeks preceding le tour... the only one still interested in Lance is Lance, sure the press go along, more so out of duty than anything else, I guess go in the hope of another bombshell or a big expose/confession but I guarantee the day Lance dies, the matter is over because no one is going to keep promoting Lance Armstrong other than Lance Armstrong.Lance has been holding some kind of press junket I think out in Texas as Matt Dickenson for The Times had a side article also and he explicitly makes the point that those asking why bother reporting about Armstrong now don't realise - the Armstrong story will still be talked about in 100yrs.
Its like a child crying because he isnt getting the same attention as his younger sibling. Lance's relevant to cycling today is tiny, only because he knows so much about circumventing the rules is he of any value but he wont talk about that, just how wronged he was and he wasnt the only one and its just not fair...
In other news, todays Dauphine stage was another cracker, no spoilers because you're worth it!

Sorry I wasnt having a pop at you, just Lance, I'm sure he is reading!....
The thing is with Lance is that he does have one or two good points about being treated unfairly compared to his peer group. Most of them got off lightly with a 6 month ban and then they were back racing. You look at Hincapie now with his cycling hotel, gran fondo, glamorous twitter life of wine, women and song, not to mention his development team and think WTF? How is that 'fair' when LA is getting sued by the government for $100 million, banned for life, can't even turn up at good old George's gran fondo with CVDV and reminisce with his band of merry men?The system is flawed, it's very clear. The fact that they use Lance's bullying and manipulative behaviour to justify draconian and widespread sanctions against him and no one else makes it all seem too personal and verges on contrived retribution rather than justice. Even Jan is employed as a brand ambassador for Rapha and is still attending races and riding various publicity opportunities. Quite what might happen once he is convicted for drink driving is another story but the point remains - the other Bad Boys continue to make a living from the sport.
Whether you like Lance or not doesn't mean a thing, it's about consistency and fair legal judgement without vindictiveness and schadenfreude that matters; something the whole process lacks.

Well the French haven't won since Hinault and I'm struggling to work out when the last European to win the Tour wasn't either convicted of doping or highly suspicious; our Brit wins aside of course
Sastre 2008, or Nibali last year, if you ignore the fast he's Astana. When you see Bruyneel, the mastermind of all Lance's tour wins and who knew everyting, at Wiggins' hour attempt, you have to think that there huge double standards at play.

Nixki Sorenson admits to doping, personally with a palmeres as brief as his I'd have kept quiet but it now places everyone who has ridden under or with Riis as suspect.
We all know riders have used doping but its the constant drip drip that is causing a bigger problem.I really think we should have an amnesty and the offending riders can keep their privacy but we need to put a line under this and find some sort of resolution or it will gone on forever.
One would assume he has a book out soon!
I agree, lets get all the dirty washing out, you confess and you are dealt with accordingly. Most of them whom confess would/will be of retirement age anyway so they wont have a ban to take. Anyone who is caught post the amnesty gets a stiffer penalty than previous.

post amnesty Ban for life from all sport. I have followed this sport for decades and as a former pro told me "you cant ride the TDF on rice cakes and water".I agree, lets get all the dirty washing out, you confess and you are dealt with accordingly. So if we can't get a drug free sport maybe we could highlight those who have been caught before.
Still can't wait for this years TDF though.
I think Cycling is one of the few sports to admit to the problem unlike Swimming and Athletics .
Good article in the Guardian about the increasing number of young men using steriods in the gym.

There was a side article on the same page about the number of people currently serving bans imposed by UKADA and something like 80% were rugby players....
As for "you cant ride le tour on rice cakes and water" it has been proven, you can WIN le tour clean.... just because some people werent good enough to win clean it doesnt mean no one could/can....
