Good article in the Guardian about the increasing number of young men using steriods in the gym.

There was a side article on the same page about the number of people currently serving bans imposed by UKADA and something like 80% were rugby players....
As for "you cant ride le tour on rice cakes and water" it has been proven, you can WIN le tour clean.... just because some people werent good enough to win clean it doesnt mean no one could/can....
the quote is from the 60's I doubt they use rice cakes anymore. http://www.theguardian.com/society/2015/jun/19/ana...

Yep ,Lance proved you could win it 7 times clean!!!
I don't think amnesty is the answer but proper bans. Look at all the sports where people are still competing after bans or worse reoffending.
It's hard for cycling to move on when many of the cheats are still competing or running teams.
The odds are massively still in favour of dopers, in the highly unlikely event of ever getting caught, they should been banned for life.

This is the reality and if you can get away with it for top riders a couple of years salary is a substanial sum.Its still is an issue I am sure of that and maybe thats all we can do realise that in life when the rewards are there people will cheat.
Some riders who have been caught seem to be accepted back into the fold with no problems so the Peleton needs to be more active in naming and shamong but that will never happen not until the book comes out anyway.
Still love the sport though.

Enjoying the Nationals today.
Great ride from Lizzie Armistead earlier.
Men's race is hotting up, Cav looks strong but Sky are bossing things...
just loving this.I can remember when the Nationals would attract one man and his Dog but the number of top continental pros now make this a really prestegious title. See a photographer knocking house of his bikeGreat ride from Lizzie Armistead earlier.

Very impressed by Cav taking the fight to Sky. the nationals are the only time you will see him ride as an individual.
Luke Rowe got a lot of flack on twitter for sitting on, but who in their right mind would work with the world's fastest sprinter just so they can be mugged at the end?! Good riding by all of the front four and good to see Blythe up there too.

Yep, great ride by Cav but his post ride interviews are cringeworthy!
I found both his and Kennaugh's comments about the crowd annoying to be honest. If they want to take the easy smooth line up the gutter of Michaelgate they have to accept they are putting themselves right into the crowd watching. The pavement is very narrow at some points, only one person wide, and all the crowd stayed on the pavement. Of course they are going to be leaning in, they want to watch you come up the climb.
If they don't want to potentially get bashed by a spectator, don't ride into them.

Great ride by Kennaugh and Cav. Show's that Cav is much more than a sprinter.

He is going to do an awful lot of complaining for the three weeks of the Tour.If they want to take the easy smooth line up the gutter of Michaelgate they have to accept they are putting themselves right into the crowd watching. To be fair to Cav, thats his normal manner and voice. When you are asked stupid questions along the lines of "did you have something to prove....." or whatever it was, ok, I knew the context was agaisnt three members of a different team and without your usual support but on face value, his response to the question was blunt and, well Cav... "25 tour stage wins and a stripey jersey, i have nothing to prove thanks...." It reminds me of the interview on the line after the Olympics, was it Jill Douglas who said somethign like "Oh dear, the olympics and Mark Cavendish are not a successful partnership are they?"
As for his voice, its the normal Manx/scouse nasal whine?
