He was born in Kenya, his mother is Kenyan but his father and his parents are British so has raced under a British licence since around 2008.

What are the Froome haters views on Wiggins?

Born in Belgium to a British mother and Australian father.

It was a flippant comment. My point being that 'Britishness' is not subject to gradation; you're either British or not.

Shocking, the levels of booing and animosity towards Sky and Froome. Spitting, urine and everything else? Poor form.

Sky News are now reporting that police have opened fire on a car that tried to crash through a TdF barricade.

WTF?

Watching the highlights on Eurosport. Anyone know why vanmarcke (sp?) was intercepted by a moto bike? Was he 'drafting'?

Anyone see Matt Brammier's crash in the Tour of Utah?

Unreal, he's lucky to be alive. Matt is a total savage though, one of the hardmen of British and irish cycling.

I dont know if it was lucky or not that the car was there as there was no way he would have made that bend.

You can see the bike fly off into the trees after the impact which is where he would have ended up with no car contact.

That looks like some kind of brake failure. Nobody would take that corner at that speed out of choice. His bike leaves the road at the approach to the corner due to the speed.

Noticed a couple of other riders hit the motorbike just afterwards too.

At 20s when he enters the frame on the left side, you can see that the bike isnt straight as the back wheel is out to the right. He holds that position until the apex when the back wheel lifts off the ground.

Maybe locked up the back brake then went for the front?

Yeah, I just looked at the video again and the bike stays next to the car. I was going to edit the original post but you caught me out wink

Something does fly off into the woods and I thought it was the bike at first until I went through the clip slower as it was hard to tell.

Edit: Someone captured it from the bottom of the hill as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wv0rjqfKUZM
