The sprint final was awesome a real duel . Jason Kenny was superb and still a relatively young man too.

felt for the Italian guy but that finish was brutal too much even for Sagan
I caught the highlights of this the other day. Great win for FC, especially so as this is his last year racing. Eurosport are doing a mini series on him 'follow Fabian' or something like that - worth a watch.

Also Tirreno Adriatico starts today, was a great race that last year. Haven't checked the line this year but would expect to see some big GC names in there.

well there's been some decent stuff going on in the Paris -Nice and Tirreno-Adriatico.

Nacer Bouhanni's disqualification the other day was interesting - his antics were certainly questionable!

Yep. Didn't give Matthews enough space so got relegated from 1st to 3rd, Matthews given the win.

Great win for Steve Cummings today!

And I see tomorrow's stage has been cancelled due to snow...

Also top work by G today.

Some of the most exciting last 10k of a stage I've seen for a long time..

Real lesson in not giving up by two great fighters. ....

.(in the spirt of no spoilers) Well done to the tour winner and bloody well done to the 2nd place gladiator

Stunning last stage, probably the best road racing I've seen in many many years. Two road warriors going head to head, and not once did they look down at their power meters. smile

so pleased for Thomas he really went through it on the last stage and his decent was epic. What a great time Cummins is having at the end of his Career. for some of us this is all quite incredible stuff having just the black and white films of Tom Simpson or the Tour wins of Barry Hoban now every time you put the TV on its World Champions jersey's TDF wins classic wins etc great stuff.

I watched Pantani's film recently and he was devastated by that test failure and now it could well be a knobbled test. I hope so because he was so special.

Even if the Giro test was a fix it looks very much like he was using for the '98 tour. A shame, but lets be honest it's not entirely shocking is it.

I too enjoyed the Pantani film and Matt Rendells book is well worth a read if you havent already read it. The 'cult of Pantani' is an interesting one. A man who played a large part in creating the mystique surrounding himself, but ultimately found it impossible to face the reality of his use of PED's. A tragic story really.
