Its going to be fascinating to watch how he reacts, he lacks the experience and tactical acumen to take the fight to the likes of Quintana, Scarponi and Rodriguez but given Wiggo and Froome are having a love-in in France in July, Porte is ill, there is no-one else around.

Quintana is younger and has less experience than Kennaugh looking at their history. I think he knows the score.

Wonder what Henao thinks about that?

More interestingly, he has been let back in on the quiet (unless I have missed something)
Are there not two 'Henaos'? smile

Kennaugh not starting LBL today due to illness. Sky seem to be really struggling to keep their riders fit and healthy.

Someone smarter than me postulated last year that as teams and riders drive riders' body fat % down to unrealistic levels there is a significant negative effect on their immune systems. Could this be what is happening here?

Although that 'may' contribute to an increase in susceptibility to illnesses; I think it is more down to an accumulation of a number of factors.

I would hazard a guess that the demands of professional level cycle racing would take its toll on the body. Pro cyclists also seem to cram a lot of punishing races in and have short recovery times.

Even variations in temperature play a big part in catching colds etc. Going from sweating/hot into a cold headwind/rain etc is a killer.

I wonder how many pro. gymnasts come down with illnesses etc, again they are super lean but compete in a very different discipline.

Well the last 100 metres were ok, apart from that, utter turd. Oh, and congratulations to the sport's biggest wheel sucker - great win.

I'm still baffled as to how Dan Martin dropped it. Nothing on the road, was dry, tarmac a little shiny, but just like the rest of the road. confused

In Turkish news

Well done to Cav

Tommy Voeckler didn't win? hehe

Gutted for Dan Martin, thought it was the front from the initial view but on the overhead it was the rear that went, I don't think he would've held them off anyway but gutting.

Good stage win for Cav in the Tour of Turkey too, came from quite far out. Looked pleased having to hold a huge bunch of bananas on the podium!

Good riding by Adam Yates today, looks like he is adapting to the top level well.

Sad news about his brother however who has done his collarbone.

Having closely studied the above footage I can definitely say, unequivocally, that he falls off his bike. smile
