A lot of big names pulling or crashing out this year - most of them in fact. The next week might be a chance for some lesser known climbers from the pack to get a chance to shine?

Assume Cancellara is eyeing up the hour record then before the worlds?
Think it is after the worlds.

Hope he gets it :-)

Looking forward to the French attacking while chasing a podium and seeing how long the Astana domestiques can continue their sterling work.

Interestingly the ITV4 first-10-stages wrap did not mention Valverde at all! Stealthy 3rd place!

I only see Gary Imlach during the TdF each year.

Anyone know what he does for the other 11 months?

I lve the long winded internet "scientific analysis" that uses a couple of random numbers interspersed with a load of bks to lead to the stunning conclusion "wait and see".

If that isn't proof that Nibbles is clean / dirty, i don't know what is.

Don't know how up to date this is:

'Gary Imlach (born 1960, West Bridgford[1]) is a British author, journalist and broadcaster, specialising in sport. Imlach is particularly associated with non-mainstream sports, working for many years as the face of Channel 4's coverage of American Football and the Tour de France, having transferred to ITV when the station bought the television rights to the cycle race. He has also hosted the late night sports chat show "Live and Dangerous", and currently presents ITV's coverage of the Tour de France as well as their Super Bowl coverage. He also does links between programmes on the British version of ESPN Classic. In September 2010, Imlach resumed presenting duties on Channel 4's coverage of American Football, but was replaced by Danny Kelly ahead of the 2011 season.[2]

Imlach's biography of his father Stewart Imlach, My Father and Other Working Class Football Heroes, won the William Hill Sports Book of the Year (2005),[3] and the Best New Writer of the British Sports Book Awards (2006).[4]'

Feel sirry for Talansky. He's spent more time on the deck than upright, and is now looking to be really struggling. 3/4 of a stage solo vs a peleton that looks to be pushing on must be really hard when you are going for a win. Doing a similar effort just to avoid elimination must be soul destroying.

Daft q- why haven't garmin sent a man back to help him?

I suspect he and the team know he won't be racing for much longer.

Risk that he ends up outside the time limit and takes a team mate with him.
