Anderson beat MvG and PT to win this. The current and last World Champion.

If you're going to win, beat the best, and Anderson has done that!

Even though I was shouting for Taylor, have to be happy with that result. Well done Gary smile great Game, great toughness, and you seem a real nice guy. Oh and now Champion of the World.

What a match. Quite possibly the best game of darts I've ever seen. Very pleased with the result; Anderson is a good guy and I've become rather tired of Taylor's self-absorbed, centre of attention posturing. That said, at no stage can you write him off and at 6-6, I fully expected him to finish the job. So much to talk about in that game, I'm going to sleep it off. Goodnight all!

Great final. Anderson deserved champion.

I've been glued to the pdc darts the last week or so - some fantastic matches/drama.

Just tried to watch some of the bdo - reminded me its not in remotely the same league. Switched off after 5 mins..!

It's like going back in time to the early 1990s - tbh I'm surprised the BBC have stuck with it for this long.

True, but it would still be a shame if they stopped broadcasting it. Some matches are worth watching.

Anyone else a bit pissed off at the Prem League line up?

Chizzy and Huybrechts for fks sake? Chizzy is fking awful to watch and Huybrechts is in there to stir up Taylor. Don't really rate him tbh!

VdV and Jenkins would've been much more worthy. Even though Whitlock has been playing st I thought he would've been included for Aussie viewing figures.

Haven't seen last nights game as I was working. Well done to Ando (it's a shame about his fallouts last night!) but he's 4th favourite in the Premier League for a reason. Can't look past MvG or Taylor (can you ever?!).

Didn't really mind who won, but well done to Gary Anderson - probably just about deserved it on the night (and doubly so for knocking out MvG on the way).
Have to agree watching the BDO after that is not the same - the standard seems to have slipped over the last 2-3 years.

The sound on the BDO coverage annoys me. It's like they have a microphone behind the board and it's turned right up in the mix.
So it's .... BOOOOM BOOOOM BOOOOOOM "twenty six"

You were right - have caught bits and pieces this week and the standard is pretty high. And a lot of the guys don't even play darts full time - they have jobs elsewhere. It's a shame both organisations can't find a way to work together.

Meanwhile over in Australia.

bbc said:
Play was stopped at an Australian darts competition when rioting fans in fancy dress brawled and threw chairs.

Dutchman Michael 'Mighty Mike' van Gerwen was playing Australia's Simon 'The Wizard' Whitlock in an invitational tournament at the Etihad Stadium in Melbourne when chaos broke out.

The pair - among the top-ranked players on the Professional Darts Corporation circuit - were halted when a boisterous crowd took to throwing chairs, tossing tables and grappling in groups.

Images show a man dressed as Batman's sidekick Robin wrestling with an English knight, while security guards try to calm the situation down.

Other pictures show men in Hawaiian shirts and also a gang of Oompa Loompas throwing furniture.

Police later arrived on the scene but not before the entire seating area had been wrecked by the marauding crowd.
