The above event has had some fantastic matches in its opening couple of days.

Does anybody know why the players are now wearing proper ties instead of bow ties?

Judd Trump today and Mark Selby yesterday looked really scruffy with their ties loose and pulled aside.

Maguire has a doctor's attest releaving him of the need to wear a (bow)tie. Lucky and cheeky bd!

Don't know why the tie is in the rules, though. They just wear it entering the arena, and then re-arrange it so it doesn't bother the cue-action!

Ronnie's unplayable when he's playing like this.

Rules are ordinary Tie for the afternoon sessions and Bowtie for the evening ones.

Yes, but a hell of a mix of addictive and boring when they play like they did in the last couple of frames. And can't he shut his mouth occasionally, his tongue is like a lizard getting out of control!!

Thanks for that, in all my years of watching Snooker I have never noticed, is it a new dress code?

From what the commentators were saying , years ago it used to be the norm, then it changed to Bowties all the time and now has reverted to what it used to be.

If that makes sense !!

Ronnie was in form tuesday evening. Watched it front row and enjoyed it very much.

Just gt through the chunnel and off the Eurostar and arrived home in Belgium to watch him shake hands. Apparently he was in even better form today! Wish I had book a train earlier! smile

Will catch the re-run tonight!

Well.... That was the most expensive game of snooker I've ever paid for. Seeing him play live was incredible.

Just got the end of Ronnie's first session from today on the highlights. Walden had ONE break of 35 in the first frame, and that was the only balls he potted! Nonsense hehe

50 mins of highlights and the BBC only show 1 frame from Ronnies's match. The rest is repeats of the other match they've been repeating on the red button for hours.

I cannot be the only one who missed Ronnie's match while at work and would like to watch more of it.

'Snooker extra' is now on, I'm gonna watch it, and record it for future enjoyment. (hopefully they show a full re-run of the Ronnie match)

Edit: yep! Started from the very beginning biggrin
