Alastair Cook: I gave no Kevin Pietersen ultimatum - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/32812175
Forgetting the KP, the fact that Cook calls Andrew Strauss "Straussy" shows that English cricket is not going to change anytime soon.
Broad should be dropped but won't be as it's all too matey matey. He is a shadow of his former self and should step aside and let someone else have a go.

Maybe an Aussie will sort out the cosy clique that is the old boys of the English dressing room?
Swanny and Matty have gone, Broady, Cookie and Jimmy still keeping their places as a group, when only one deserves his place on current form.
Not saying KP was blameless, or that he even deserves a place. But part of the trust problem is still on one side of that dressing room.
All IMHO of course.

There is no smoke without fire, and I am sure KP was well involved in his own issues, but it also takes two to tango.Swanny and Matty have gone, Broady, Cookie and Jimmy still keeping their places as a group, when only one deserves his place on current form.

Broad and Cook are no longer good enough for this team imo. Anderson is still our best bowler, but he needs someone to back him up, and Broad hasn't done that for a long time now. Nothing will change, and a complete arse whooping by New Zealand and Australia will make no difference!

Zimbabwe have arrived in Pakistan to play some ODIs and 20\20s . First the for 6 years to tour. I wonder how long till England or Oz go ? ICC say they aren't sending any officials not sure if that means they will use local umpires ?
Finally, after 6 long fking years. Got sick and tired of stty and dead up UAE. I think local umpires being used including one Zimbabwean, and Aleem Dar too.
Security is mega, if everything goes nice and sweet, I hope this will convince teams to tour Pakistan in the future.
Big up to Zimbabwe for touring. Will feel good to finally watch Pakistan in Pakistan.

Great interview with Curtly Ambrose on talk sport right now.
He has a new book out . What a player eh , i seem to agree with everything he said.
He was on Five Live this afternoon too. Shared some interesting thoughts on a clash with Dermot Reeve where he bowled him three beamers in a row because he was "highly annoying". He has a new book out . What a player eh , i seem to agree with everything he said.

He seemed to not get on with Lara, for me he was one of the most selfish players ever to play the game.I will defo be buying his book .

I'm not sure ICC are totally convinced but its a step in the right direction. I did see some pics of Zim arriving in Pakistan. The 7km from the airport to the hotel was closed to all other traffic and lined with thousands of soldiers and policemen. I think local umpires being used including one Zimbabwean, and Aleem Dar too.

I have tickets for day 4 of the Ashes at Edgbaston.
By the looks of things I'll maybe see about 10 overs on that day!
If you're lucky. I also have Day 4 tickets for Cardiff, not holding out much hope. On the upside the day pass is booked in with the mrs so if there's no cricket... well she doesn't need to know and a day on the lash beckons...By the looks of things I'll maybe see about 10 overs on that day!

England 30/4.
Interesting start to their summer of cricket at home.

England just passed the score the Aussies made against this Kiwi attack a few months ago in the WC. Still, I suppose you can only beat what's put in front of you.
