Sad news, this. Only 27 years old too.... frown

From memory, wasn't he one of the first real attacking wicketkeeper-batsmen in that opening role, coming from the time we copied Australia and Gilchrist. Decent player on his day and scored 63 in the World T20 final. Good player at Somerset too and his battle for the WK spot led to Jos Buttler leaving. Been rumoured around the county for a while that he wouldn't come back but still sad to see the news confirmed.

Sad to Hear about Keiswetter.

Another wicket keeper has also retired. Matt Prior hasn't regained fitness so has called it a day.

Just got back from Taunton where Gayle's last appearance for Somerset was a washout.

Shame really that he's going back early; officially he's got a back injury that's niggling a bit and he's also got CPL commitments coming shortly so tonight would have been his swansong.

Still, got my picture with him so that's all good.

Indeed. I'll bet you didn't accidentally brush against his chest.

Nasty collision between Rory Burns and Moises Henriques as they both went for a catch at the Oval this evening.

The game was at Arundel not the Oval. Three ambulances were on the pitch at one point. Speedy recovery to both players.

I know it sounds grim, but I'd really like to see a video of it. Just how bad can two people running into each other actually be?

I guess if you imagine how much damage you could do if you sprinted headlong into a something solid and then doubled that for the closing speed of them both then you'd have the answer.

p.s. the chap with multiple breaks to his jaw also needs dental reconstructive surgery.

Sky Sports News showed it earlier on this morning. Worst thing is that you can see it's going to happen before the crunch... and bloody hell, it's a crunch!

I heard Chris Gayle saying he managed to get his photo taken with that bloke off Countdown.

I heard him say that New Jersey governor Chris Christie was in town and he'd managed to blag a pic with him.

Ha, not heard that one before. Mark Addy and Chris Moyles are the usual two.
