Double century for Ross Taylor, great reply by New Zealand.

Saffers struggling against spin again.
Saffers having even more trouble in the current match, 79 all out in their first innings.

Great image on Cricinfo. Barry Richards with his bat from 1970 compared to Dave Warner's current blade. Incredibly Warner's bat is only 3 oz heavier!

Siddle giving the umpire some back talk, even Warner had to tell him to calm down. Typical Australians, they'll be bowling underarm again soon.

Probably for the best, given the absolute mullering they got from Ashwin, Jadeja and co in the 1st innings. The Saffer's never do well against spin, do they?

Tavare would have been proud of that effort

Anyone watching nz v SL ? possibly the greenest wicket I have seen. Aside from that Hamilton looks a very nice ground to watch cricket from. Anyone ever been ?

It was an interesting test match - another class innings by Kane Williamson who is in the form of his life. He's only 25 but already looks a complete batsman. Most runs in a calender year in both tests and odis - pretty good in T20s too.

Pakistani leggie Yasir Shah, one of the best test bowlers over the last 2 years, does a Shane Warne and has been busted for taking a diuretic.

WI carry on with a usual inept display. I'm sure Zim could have put up more of a fight. WI need to carry out a root reform across the board.

I so wish that the WIndies would generate some backbone again.

Today was no better for the WI , only reason they haven't already lost Aus didn't want to enforce the follow on.

NZ smashed SL by 10 wickets , Guptill hammered 93*.Second fastest 50 in ODIs.

Anyone else think it's getting harder for teams to win away from home? The tours are so short it gives little preparation to get use to the conditions. I know teams still win away it seems to be happening less and less.

Shocked and saddened to hear of the death of Matt Hobden. Only 22 and had the talent to take him far. I saw him play a couple of games and he clearly enjoyed it with his unique run up and shock of blonde hair

What was his run-up like? Don't think I ever saw him bowl.

Very sad news.

He started 90 degrees to the crease, took a couple of Stroud, turned left shuffled backwards then started his run up.

Scottish police are investigating his death, currently unexplained.

Wow, must try to look out for that action. I'm always bemoaning the lack of imagination in bowlers runups....

Genuine question, why is that something to bemoan? Conventional wisdom is that your run-up should be as straight as possible down the line you want to bowl.
