This game is getting a little dull.

Surely England can afford a session of aggression now.

Gloucester having a proper nightmare against Durham in the T20 quarter finals. Durham making them look like amateurs.

Some of the worst running I've seen from Gloucester tonight. Why would you try to come back for a risky second as a tail ender when the man at the other end is on 70 something of 30 odd deliveries confused

Anyway come on Yorkshire, best of luck with the hat trick of championships, no one managed since 66, 67, 68 when it was errrr oh look Yorkshire.

Just ignore Strauss and Bayliss trying to fiddle a result for Middlesex. Prefer Zummerzet to that shower.

Let's allow a seam bowler, with a penchant for breaking down with injury, to play but block Yorkshire from using a wk/batsman.

Either England players can play or not. Bearing in mind Finn is on a central contract, whereas Bairstow is on an incremental

The thing is, though, didn't Bairstow tell the England management that he'd like to rest for a few weeks once all the Pakistan matches were completed? So they are respecting his wishes.

Bairstow had 16 days off and said he wanted to play, Rashid wanted to rest, Yorkshire respected his wishes, hoping that Rash doesn't regret that decision, which was a bit pointed.

Middlesex all out, max bowling points to Yorkshire.

Edited to say doesn't look like Yorkshire will be getting any batting points. FFS.

Zummerzet all over Notes, as you'd expect. In 2nd innings lead by 332 runs with 8 wickets remaining.

Yorks pulled fat out of fire, 35 runs behind with 4w remaining. At one time 32/3, Lees, Ballance and Gales all quack quackers.

Just to clarify, FiF: Did Bairstow tell them that he wanted to play, after he'd actually had 16 days off, or did he say it prior to asking for a rest from the game?

It was after his 16 days off , he didn't know he was being pulled from the Midd game till after the rest.

I'm I right in thinking that unless Yorkshire score 350+ we can't win the title ?

Yes we need to get 350 in the first innings AND win the match to win the championship. Reckon the 350 is going to be beyond us seeing as new ball available 11 overs into the morning session.

Re Bairstow, iirc ECB made it clear in July that he needed a rest as picked for both test and limited overs series. Since the 4th test against Pakistan ending on August 14, Bairstow has had 5 days cricket in 5 weeks. ECB said that we had to rest both Bairstow and Root for the Somerset game. As above Bairstow wanted to play in the final game and said he felt rested. Yorks approached ECB and were refused despite having 6 players regularly on international duties in the last 12 months. Couple that with the decisions to let other players selected for the tour appear for their counties it leaves a bad taste.

Ah, right. Thanks for the info, mate. You're a lot more clued-up on England and Yorkshire cricket shenanigans the me.

Zummerzet declare, Notts set a second innings target of 541.yikes

Here at Lord's breathing is difficult, 9 down and 335 on the board. Come on Bressers and Siddybottoom, show that the bowlers can also bat a bit.
