You know the football? Where the football journalists blow really hot and cold just depending? Well mainly cold at the moment.
Well I am sure the cricketing media are doing the same thing. I agree they should have critisised England over the Ashes etc, but they did go too far.
Now they are blowing hot and going the other way.
Don't they know things take time one way or another and things change over time too. Just look at the Spanish football squad for that.
So the big question is, how will the media approach the next test? Cautious optimism but being prepared for one step forward two steps back would be my thoughts, but lets see?
They may well blow both hot and cold over an entire 5 days just depending on how Mary Poppins wind blows.

Sanga adds another big score to 2014s total. He has already scored 4 centuries and averages 86 this year. SL must be worried trying to replace him ,jayawardene and Matthews. Jayawardene averages this year is 61 and Matthews is 91. I make them slight favourites v Pakistan.
Zimbabwe have started their first test match v decent opposition for a while and managed 248-9.

Saeed Ajmal has been reported for chucking. I like the guy and he's an entertaining bowler but to the naked eye it looks like he bends then extends his elbow more than 15 degrees numerous times during a match and it's not just the doosra but his off spiner too. I hope they rectify his action otherwise he will be banned from bowling.

I agree and think that radio and TV media seem to drive this, as so much pundit 'opinion' is broadcast live without the considered distance that some of the better print journalists have.I'm gaining a lot of respect for some of the Cricinfo journalists such as George Dobell who seem more grounded in the reality. They probably don't create the big headlines that grab attention but there's more subtlety and honesty in their analysis, without saying "England are the worst/best in the world".

Way to go Brummies!!!!!
We finally win something!
Last couple overs were proper nerve racking, when Brown was bowled by Woakes I thought that's it, game over, but Flintoff took it to the final over, and thankfully Birmingham got him off strike. Great stuff. In front of their home crowd too, makes the win a bit more sweeter. We finally win something!
