Everyone knows that the pitch overrules skill, determination & class when you have 2 sets of batsmen & bowlers playing in the same conditions.

When we (England) lost all those games both at home & away to the Aussies back in the 1980's & 90's it had nothing to do with them having better players than ours during that era. It was simply a case that the Aussies prepared pitches over there that massively favoured them & when we played our home Ashes tests, we obliged by also preparing pitches which favoured them.

It's the usual sour grapes. Sad really. Pakistan may be playing on a preferred surface, but not their preferred country. Indeed they have been starved of test cricket for such a long time, and given the relative inexperience of this side, it's incredible that they have managed to not only beat, but utterly thrash the Australians.
A win is a win biggrin . First series win against the Aussies in 20 years!!

I thought we were going to miss Ajmal big time, but our new Spin bowlers, especially Zulfiqar Babar have done great. Quite inexperienced bowling attack too.

UAE is pretty much the home of Pakistan cricket now. I can't see Pakistan playing in Pakistan for a very, very long time frown

No sour grapes in my earlier comment just a simple statement of fact, all of the sub continental teams do rather well on the dusty spinning type tracks that they have spent all their lives playing on.

Conversely the Poms, Saffers, NZ & Oz prefer to play on greener surfaces.

We were flogged by Pakistan in all areas of the game over the two tests, first time in a long time they have looked united, composed and totally focused on the task at hand. Hopefully they can build from here and become again what they once were.

Well done Pakistan, I'm now looking forward to the Sydney test in January

Talented lad for sure, but never got the mental game right. Not a great appointment.

Ramps was the most naturally talented English batsman of his generation. His problems were mental not technical, I think he'll make a great batting coach.

If most of our batting issues were technical then I'd agree with you, however I think that most of our batting issues are mental.

Australia win the T20!

At least we've won a series in one form of the game recently.

Won the T20 today too, South Africa only managing to make 102, Watson and Finch done the business with the bad.

That's what your head coach and your sports psychologist are for. The batting coach is there to work on technique.

Just seen the score in the ODI between India and SL.

ODI has become a joke format. I know a lot of people want to see some bloke scoring 250 in 150 balls and teams hitting over 400 in 50 overs, but as a cricket fan, I want to watch a contest between bat and ball.

I don't understand the fan's mindset. Everyone loves goals in football, but how many times would you want to watch Manchester City beating Gosport Borough 15-0 before it gets old? It's not a perfect analogy but the way these bowlers keep getting absolutely pumped is just becoming pointless.
