Anyone watching the T20 Big bash?
yes

Big fan of T20 cricket generally. I usually do a Fantasy Big Bash team with the kids but didn't bother this year for some reason.

This morning's game was superb. George Bailey's cameo at the end pulled it round when I thought they were going to throw it away.
Was a good little cameo from Bailey to see his side through. Was expecting (and hoping) a final over thriller.

Great catch in the big bash game today betweem Brisbane and Adelaide. Looked like a certain sixer, Kieran Pollard catching the ball and chucking it to Travis Head before going over the boundary rope.

And Kumar Sangakara reached 12,000 test runs yesterday against New Zealand. The fastest player to do so, and only the fifth man in test cricket. Took him 224 innings. Rahul Dravid, Ricky Ponting, Sachin Tendulkar and Jacque Kallis are the other men to have scored more than 12,000 test runs.

Also scored his 11th double century, one behind Don Bradman.

I keep seeing Root touted as FEC....why??? What's he done to show he's a future captain? Just pick the best team, and take it from there.
A shame Downton, Moores & Clarke can't depart as well....
It's no good picking a captain who can't get into the side on merit. Root is one of our most consistent performers at the moment.

Sky Sports 2 are currently showing the 2nd T20I between South Africa and the West Indies. SA scored 237 and now the WIs are 169/1 in 13 overs. Crazy batting.

Didn't see it live but someone shared the link on twitter. It was really bizarre but must have been very exciting to watch live. It's a shame they fked up the run out in the end.

Stars got off to a bad start when Luke Wright and Cameron White were removed early, but Pietersen and Maxwell put on a 120 run partnership and I thought the Stars would cruise home, would have been an epic choke.

I like those flashing stumps they have. I wouldn't mind seeing those in International cricket.

WIs are doing their best to throw it away here.

They have the flashing stumps in the current international - they don't seem as bright as the big bash ones though.

What a run chase by the West Indians bow . Wanted Gayle to get a century, but that's minor.

How can a game where both teams score at 12 an over be anything other than joke cricket?

I'm awaiting the new raft of T20 rules from the ICC:

- Only two fielders allowed on the field at any one time.
- Only one yorker allowed per innings.
- Bats can be up to 12" wide
- Boundaries must be no longer than 15m at the furthest point

These changes should get totals over 400 and then we'll really start seeing some top quality stuff....

Cricket is supposed to be a contest between bat and ball not just a runfest where bowlers are only there to make up the numbers.

Entertaining innings for Strikers against Sydney Thunders. 119 in 10 overs (reduced). Sixes galore.

Trott is 176 not out for the Lyons against Saffers A.

Good to see him rebuilding confidence in himself.

Eng have put another big total together in a warm up game. Runs across the board , it will be interesting to see how that translates to playing international teams.

And a mixed bunch of players who leaked those runs are currently 3/204 off 27.5, looks like they are playing on a road

I really don't like cricket like that. The pitch needs to offer something to the bowlers.
