A getable score but above par. Need a hundred from someone.

Not from a UK side though. Good luck.

I'll be glad if we get the total above 100

Wakes has been a bit of a let down with the bat in this series.

England remain a very difficult side to understand. Have all the right skills, but can't seem to put it together in an aggressive positive way.

Absolutely no stones between the lot of them.

Bopara is going to have to pull his finger out to make any sort of a run chase.

Very soft loss from England.
Lost by 112 runs in under 40 overs after a very poor start from Australia.

It's summer and we're thrashing the poms again. Bring on the World cup.

About what was expected , Aus were favorite's and won easily. We have a long long way to go before looking good enough to win a world cup.

I like Bopara but unless he is going to be played higher up the order I don't see much point in him being in the side. I'd take Ben Stokes or Samit Patel over Bopara.

I think England will do quite well at the WC - Bell is in great form, Moeen Ali always scores very quickly and a middle order that has Morgan, Taylor, Buttler and Root can't be written off. They also bat very deep and have a decent seam attack.

The WC format has been designed in such a way that the top 8 are pretty much guaranteed to make the quarter finals. After that, if you are in a bit of form and have some luck on the way any of the top sides can win 3 in a row to lift the trophy.

Sure Australia and South Africa are clear favourites but England and New Zealand are my dark horses for this one. I also think the Asian sides will struggle - their bowling is pish.

My money is on SA vs NZ final, not sure I could pick a winner after that.

I just want it to be over so we can get back to proper cricket.

Anyone see the IPL draw this morning. KP went to the Sunrisers but no-one else bid for him, and he went for his base price.

Checked and no tweets from KP or his pal Piers Morgan.

Maybe the KP star is waning????

So, this was one of the 20% of 10%? So a 2% game?

You sure, sounds a bit ripe.
HR, you will recall we struggled a bit to find some facts on successful chases of 300+

Ireland today chased a 300+ score down. This fact from the BBC

It is the fifth successful World Cup chase in excess of 300 and three of them have been by Ireland.

Of course, it is only World Cups, not every ODI game, but it does show it is still freakishly rare.

Good stuff. Maybe it was the nature of the original performance (that 300 that England got, and which was chased down easily by the Crims) that fuelled my comment. It looked like a below par score on that pitch, and it was.

I guess I'm saying that we are so st, that when we score 300 in that manner it's generally because the wicket is favourable. In which case, the oppo will do us every time unless it's someone small and st like Ireland or Holland.

Oh.

KP has tweeted saying he's looking forward to playing with Steyn, Bopara and Morgan for the Sun Risers.

I'm guessing he'll still be in the top 10 most expensive players taken in the auction so don't think his star is waning that badly.
