Interesting comments from Cook.

Fair enough there is a fundamental issue with the structure of English cricket, but its a bit rich to come out and say those things when he was part of the problem from the outset.

Was reading this yesterday about KP not being part of England plans and that the England cricket team have moved on since KP last played.
They may have moved on - but backwards a very long way....
If KP scores runs for Surrey (or whoever), he should be recalled on the basis of his run scoring talent

Well If he returns and scores 100s I'm not bothered what his team mates think of him.
Interesting to see how it all pans out and what county pick him up. Unsure what the selectors would require of him but i presume he would need to play alot of games in the various formats to even be thought about for selection. Challo said:

Which is a bit pathetic when Trott ran away from The Ashes tour and is back in the squad. Asterix said:
Funnily enough - I was watching him play at a small T20 thing in Dubai on Friday and he did alright.
It was also the first time I've ever watched cricket live and after a few very near misses from a few sixes that landed very close to us - it pays to keep an eye on what's going on!
Once you get into the game you know when to lift your head up from the paper to coincide with the bowler running in, follow the action then back to the crossword. It was also the first time I've ever watched cricket live and after a few very near misses from a few sixes that landed very close to us - it pays to keep an eye on what's going on!

England Management at its finest.
Though I have been the staunchest of KP supporters, I cannot see that his return in anything other than T20 is useful

Worst day ever! My damn glasses broke! Might as well have had stayed home
Hope to go watch a few matches this year at Edgbaston.
Got home earlier to find that Chris Gayle has signed for my county for six T20 games this summer.
Bloody hell.
The pitch at Taunton is well known for being able to generate a run fest and there has been some huge t20 scores there over the years. The Somerset CCC website broke under the weight of ticket applications earlier- thankfully, I've managed to get myself and my lads tickets to see the Kent and Surrey games at home.
Bloody hell.

Jayawardena at Sussex and Afridi at Northampton too. Bloody hell.

Mustafa Kamal quits as ICC president after World Cup snub. He came to this decision after he was denied the right to present the world cup trophy to the Aussies really?
'He said Bangladesh's 109-run loss appeared to have been "pre-arranged" and there was "no quality in the umpiring" - a claim denied by the ICC.'
Sounds like sour grapes to me...
