Under par batting performance I think we all agree. Jimmy to win the thing on his own again?
Quite possibly but it must be demoralising being a bowler in England's test side with such woeful batting performances. You are persistent Ill give you that Rich, but every post of yours whinging, whining and criticising about the team I think has been subsequently kaiboshed and shown to be codswallop.

And I'll take issue with you on that CJD. Looking back the only posts I have made have been i) to say Trott should not even have been in the side, I stick by that. ii) that Broad was daft to review a clear catch, can't take issue with that and iii) that last night England were talking about getting 300+ and they didn't. No whinging or whining just facts. Right, no let's carry on and admire the bowling.
Well you, that 24 bloke, Garg when he wants to be trolly - you all look the same Its the constant moaning and whinging that bugs me. England can't do right for doing wrong. This series has gone for England exactly what they needed -
1. Established whether Trott had a place or not. He doesn't.
2. Re-establish Cook as a primary batsman, as the Skipper, as the rock. Done.
3. Establish whether Ballance is a test 3 and whether KP can still have a place. He is, he doesn't.
4. Look at a new middle order of Root, Ali, Stokes, Butler and see if it works. It does, they have runs.
5. Bed Stokes in. Ongoing.
6. Re-establish Jimmy & Broad as a bowling pair to be feared. Done.
England had a multitude of questions post World Cup and coming back into the Test world, now they only really have two. Lyth, Hales & Robson now are to compete for that place. England have not settled their post Swann spin question, nor looked properly at Rashid.
Of those two, the 2nd opening bat slot is the most important issue that remains. Root and Ali can do a job.

Whilst I mostly agree with that, but I also think that Broad needs to sort his batting out and pitch the ball up a little more when the pitch isn't lively.1. Established whether Trott had a place or not. He doesn't.

.
First Test Match.
Cook 11 & 13
Second Test Match
Cook 76 & 59 not out
Third Test Match.
Cook 105 & 4
Against a poor test team those aren't that hugely impressive.
On another note is one big score from Bell enough to cover for the rest of his failures?
