The Masters:

Bill Haas 4 under, Adam Scott and others 1 back.

Fairways are like greens, greens are like putting down the bonnet of your car.

So, who's your money on then?
Check out the Masters thread smile
Thankyou Sir.

I'm a bit obsessive, too!

I actually think I've over-golfed this month. I've played 3 rounds in 6 days, and it'll be 4 rounds in a week come tomorrow.

I'm just waiting to get my official handicap but I'd like to think I could get to 13/14 by the end of the summer. Single figures next year maybe!!!!
Same here - I play between 6 and 10 rounds a week, probably about 350 rounds a year and my handicap came tumbling down, I went from a best round of 105 to a best of 75 in eighteen months, thought I was headed for single figures after a 79 and 75 on consecutive days then it all went wrong about 3 months ago and hasn't come right since so I'm stuck on 14.

My arms and shoulders ache but I just can't stop playing.

As opposed to buying a new set of irons and the a driver as well, would I be as well picking up one of the "package deals" that American golf do?

Something like this:

or this

Personally I think your money would be better spent on quality second hand clubs, I hate to harp on about them but golfbidder are fantastic!!

For 200-250 you could get a lot lf club!

Just bought a pair of Adizero shoes.

No idea what they'll actually be like, but I need a new pair and they're lightweight and comfortable apparently.

For £26 a pair they've got to worth a go.

Just wow at being able to play that much golf smile

Once a week is max for me with work/home life/injuries.

Still love it like nothing else.

Best game in the world imo.

No apologies necessary. Most golf shoes look daft to me, unless you're willing to pay serious money.

I'd never wear these anywhere but a golf course, but TBH I'll never look stylish on a course no matter what I wear

Check your locker room for any memo's regarding these shoes, some courses prohibit them.
Any particular reason, or just the styling?

Doubt it'll be a problem at my local courses. None if them are all that formal.

It's the spikes, they seem to damage the greens unlike other shoes - hence why the crash in price for those shoes.

Just take another pair of shoes with you if you play a new course.....those shoes are frowned upon at the club I am a member of...they leave a terrible imprint on the greens after you have walked on them in those shoes.

Ah, fair enough. My current shoes are still ok. Just a little tatty and they stay in the car anyway, so I'll just leave them there.

Frowned upon is a little strong...I should have said they would prefer that you don't play in those shoes.

Pairs match today , won 4 and 3 giving away 6 shots on 3/4 handicap. Had a nice 6 hole run of 4 pars and a couple of birdies on the stroke index 3 and 5 holes. Driving the ball well and my 6/7 iron was my friend today smile

yes

Delightful game in extraordinary surroundings.

I didn't want to wait until I was 65 (I'm 46 now) to play where and when I wanted so a couple of years ago I sold my business, bought a shack across the road from my course and play just about everyday with a mate who also retired early.

We're surrounded by stunning, cheap (£10) empty courses with no tee-off times, just arrive and play - even this incredible championship resort http://www.terracedowns.co.nz/Golf-Resort.aspx only costs us £15ea (normally £80ea) including a cart.

In Summer we can play from 10am to 10pm, that wasn't quite enough so we bought fluro-lit balls and now we can play at night smash

I'm still rubbish.......but loving it smile

agree majority do look quite odd, I really like the new footjoy DNA's though.. I'd probably treat myself to a pair if I didn't live in Scotland, £150 golf shoes to get caked in mud every weekend is a no-go as far as I'm concerned hehe

I like some of the Ecco shoes, but I'm not paying £140 odd for golf shoes when I never pay more than half that for normal shoes.

Bought a new (to me) driver a couple of weeks back. Picked up a used TM R11 with stiff tour preferred shaft for £80 from the local American Golf.

Struggled a bit on my first round with it, but after a couple of range sessions I'm hitting straighter and longer, so we'll see how I get in tomorrow morning.

Dream golf life maybe Duncan, very tranquil here but there's no woman (who in their right mind would put up with my 12 hour a day habit?), rubbish nightlife, no decent restaurants and because I sold up I can't buy the 2/3/4+ cars a year that I used to.

And it's been raining for 9 straight days banghead

I've been putting in the living room but it's akin to giving a cold turkey heroin wreck an Anadin...........
