Am playing more golf and my next investment is a golf trolley. Like choosing clubs, this is doing my head in. Not interested in electric / powered, so looking at pull carts only and they range from £25 to £700 (yes £700 http://www.americangolf.co.uk/gps-bags-equipment/p... and I honestly don't know what goes into choosing. My only requirement is something that folds down fairly compactly. I went into local american golf on saturday which was a mistake as it was just so busy I couldn't get any member of staff's attention for the 30 mins I was there and I can't make it during the week, so over to you guys. Budget around £100, and at that price point, there's hundreds!

Help?
I have a Sun Mountain Micro Cart (and I have a matching bag which locks into the base of the trolley).

It's brilliant - stable (4 wheels). Super compact (folds up real small for the boot of your car) and light. Also has a very handy storage bag underneath.

If you could afford repalcing your bag with a matching Sun Mountain one then I'd do it - it's a very good, secure system. Something like:

Unfortunately buying a new bag isn't possible. I bought a stand bag when I first bought the clubs, and then "upgraded" to a cart bag when there was an offer on fore24. Will take a look at your link, if it accepts a 3rd party bag, it could be a winner.

Very rarely had any returns too (although this is going back a few years to when I worked for World of Golf/American Golf), especially to the own brand models.

I've bought a new driver and 3 wood (Callaway Razr Fit Extreme) and so far they feel fantastic, the driver comes off the face with hardly any spin and goes 15 yards further than my old one.
How you getting on with this club I need a new driver and I'm looking at the Callaway Razr fit extreme?

has anyone owned a Taylor-Made R1 driver if so whats your thoughts the local golf shop has a deal for £159 for this club and it looks great hopefully trying it out tomorrow along with the Callaway.

I hit my friends R1 with a matrix 7m3 shaft last year when i was playing a taylormade R11 tp with an Aldila Rip, R1 was 20 yards longer and felt far better. So its worth a look, see if you can haggle a bit on the price though as its a model old now (hopefully under £150).

I've got the Clicgear b3 trolley and Sun Mountain C130 cart bag.

Got the trolley second hand on eBay for £130 9 months ago with a few add ons (shoe brush, umbrella bracket and wheel cover). He'd only used it twice so it was like new. Love the thing.

As opposed to buying a new set of irons and the a driver as well, would I be as well picking up one of the "package deals" that American golf do?

Something like this:

http://americangolf.co.uk/golf-clubs/package-sets/...

or this

http://americangolf.co.uk/golf-clubs/package-sets/...
Personally I think your money would be better spent on quality second hand clubs, I hate to harp on about them but golfbidder are fantastic!!

For 200-250 you could get a lot lf club!
Visited the local American Golf last night and they had got a set of TaylorMade Burner Super Launch in the preowned section.

Had a go with them, far far more forgiving than my current clubs so picked them up for £150.

First trip to the range tonight to see how I get on and first round with them tomorrow.

Thanks for the advise.

Next question: Recommend a decent entry level driver, again nice and forgiving, not too pricey, and maybe also a hybrid 3? hehe

More lessons also booked for later this year smile

I think the clicgear is the winner. Have seen the reviews and it looks good. Bit over budget, but will trawl ebay for a couple of weeks and see if anything comes up

You wont go far wrong with a forgiving PING driver. I bough a 12 degree G15 used in great condition last year for £100, it's non adjustable which suits me fine I can't be arsed with all that.

My mate has an old PING G2 and it is really easy to hit, can pick these up for ~£40 used.

I've not tried them, it's just that damn advert on Sky!!!
Damn it. I always channel hop during adverts, but I must have caught it at some point. I sound like a spokesman for Wilson!

In my defence, I bought them on a recommendation. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Had to go to the dentist today, which is dangerous, as the dentist does not have a car park, and I never have any change. So the £1.10 I saved on parking turned into a £220 spend on balls, trousers, and shoes!

I play with the FG Tours - have used them for approx 3 years now, since I bought some in the US when playing out there. Is actually a new 2014 ball I bought. Also went for the new Callaway X2 hot for those days when I am not really on it!

Have used the Bridgestone e7's and the Callaway Hex Black as well over the past year and like these too. I do like to switch balls every so often to play with. I cannot get on with any of the Titleist or Taylor Made balls though.

Saw these type of shoes being used by loads during the masters, and also a lot of mates have these "moulded" studs now, so thought I would try them out. They can be added to the other 8 pairs of shoes in the garage if I don't get on with them!

I typically switch between heavy Sunderland waterproof trousers for winter, light Proquip waterproofs for when not so cold, and straight to shorts for the Summer. I needed some trousers for the inbetween, turned up at two courses last summer, where it was trousers, or shorts with long socks, and not a look I like. I ended up sweating in light waterproofs.

The problem is I am lazy and don't like to iron - so I think I have found the happy medium in these dwyers and co trousers (www.dwyersandco.com).

I admit I went for the aqua and green, as well as the more conservative black, and chino colour. I am ready for the pisstaking when the aqua or green are released onto the course.

I am the most untrendy middle aged guy, but such a golf we for all the gear and no idea! Another expensive trip to the dentists!

I'll get to try them today, an early finish and I get to play in the monthly midweek medal. Give those old boys that play every month a challenge!

So, I've just been the range with my new shineys. Wow. Bought a set of Taylormade Speedblades.
I currently use Ping G10's, I don't know what is, but I've never liked the look of them, nor the feel really. I bought them on a recommendation, never even hit with a set first. The golf pro I'm having lessons off said he never liked Pings either just because of the thick sole they have.

I can honestly say I'm amazed how different these new ones feel. The sound they make is lovely as well. Even my poor strikes were going far. Can't wait to play 18 with them tomorrow. Don't care what I score just a long as I get the ball in the air with my irons and reduce my slice with my driver.
Hopefully the lesson I had last week will help.

So with regards to getting rid of my old ones, do you lot trust eBay to sell golf stuff on? I mean, I can't imagine many scammers target golf clubs? American Golf offered me a laughable amount for them (expected)!

I'm really liking both of them, particularly the 3 wood. I find that both are easy enough to hit and hardly any side spin so no major wides! I think this club is aimed at the "better player" so not as easy to hit as some others on the market I imagine.

Deffo a recommend from me beer
