Looked set to break 90 again yesterday, but managed to cock it up on 17 and 18.
Pulled a tee shot left of the green on the short par 3 17th. Pitched on just short of making the upper tier and it rolled back leaving a tricky putt up the slope. 3 putts.
Left myself 150 into a 440yd par 4 on the 18th. Managed to catch the approach heavy and left it short and right. Took 6 shots to cover the last 150 yds.
So frustrating.
On the up side, I had a lesson Thursday. I was straightening my back leg in the backswing, which was probably causing the topped/thinned shots I hit quite often. By keeping some flex/resistance in the back leg I'm now hitting my irons really well. Much higher, consistent ball flight due to correct contact, more distance and much straighter. I'm
Hoping a sub 90 score should follow.

I've got the Clicgear b3 trolley and Sun Mountain C130 cart bag.
Got the trolley second hand on eBay for £130 9 months ago with a few add ons (shoe brush, umbrella bracket and wheel cover). He'd only used it twice so it was like new. Love the thing.
Thanks to your tip, should be picking up a clicgear b3 later this week. Managed to get it on ebay with:Got the trolley second hand on eBay for £130 9 months ago with a few add ons (shoe brush, umbrella bracket and wheel cover). He'd only used it twice so it was like new. Love the thing.

I'm really liking both of them, particularly the 3 wood. I find that both are easy enough to hit and hardly any side spin so no major wides! I think this club is aimed at the "better player" so not as easy to hit as some others on the market I imagine.
Deffo a recommend from me
Still haven't tested the clubs out I'm booked in for wednesday to try a few a drivers and looking at having my irons custom fit.Deffo a recommend from me
I splurged out on the new Garmin s4 a couple days ago waiting for it to arrive I hope I made the rite decision

It's the spikes, they seem to damage the greens unlike other shoes - hence why the crash in price for those shoes.
Just take another pair of shoes with you if you play a new course.....those shoes are frowned upon at the club I am a member of...they leave a terrible imprint on the greens after you have walked on them in those shoes.
Ah, fair enough. My current shoes are still ok. Just a little tatty and they stay in the car anyway, so I'll just leave them there. Playing today with my 2 sons. Both prefer to play with my clubs and both can hit it miles. Should be a nice afternoon.

I have those as an alternative to my heavy leather shoes. Don't buy the increased damage argument to be honest when you see what some people wear. Since hurting my knee and hip in 2012 and it keeping me out of golf for a year (and most things) I am now very firmly in the lighter is best catagory. They are fabulously comfy.
Funny you should quote that today. I've just got in from my second round in those new shoes, and yes, they're really comfortable. Like wearing slippers. I've been keeping an eye on the greens when I walk on them, and they don't seem to be leaving any marks worse than those made by my old pair. Very pleased with today's round. I didn't hit my irons quite as sweetly as Friday, but putted well and my short
Game was reasonable.
Managed to shave 5 shots off my previous best with an 86.

Bit galling to watch my son drive 2 par 5 greens in 2 and drive a par 4 green with MY driver!
As it happened on 2 holes I hit the best drives I have ever sent down those fairways.
Anyway, I was paying particular attention to fairways, greens and soft areas in my groovy light shoes. Didn't leave a mark anywhere. However, My son played Brocket Hall recently and said there was a note there about them and that you would be loaned shoes to wear instead. Perhaps I am a dainty 16 stone ninja leving not a trace as opposed to the slightly lumpy chartered surveyor I always thought I was!

Well, I'm a 19 stone lump, and I haven't noticed anything untoward, so I'd say there's not much in it. Bit galling to watch my son drive 2 par 5 greens in 2 and drive a par 4 green with MY driver!

I've been on a couple of par 5 greens in 2 shots this weekend, which was nigh on impossible before I bought my new driver, so I'm definitely seeing the benefit of some extra yardage.
It's just a shame I've hit the eagle putts so badly that it's ended up about 10ft short both times
Played yesterday with a friend and over the last 4 weeks my tee shots have been terrible.

Here's my score card. The week before I went round in 83.
No mater what I tried yesterday I couldn't hit a wood from the tee. I dropped 3 shots on the 2nd and 2 on the 3rd hole. The 18 as well sunk me as well.
I am looking at these driving nets. Where you practice in the garden driving the ball into these nets. Has anyone had any experience with these?
Any tips on how to get my tee shots back? Short play was my savour yesterday..
Its my birthday next week and I have a feeling the wife is booking me 10 lessons...
Thanks

well I played my first bit of twilight golf yesterday at the Brampton park golf club in Cambridgeshire, I should have shot a 45/46 on the front 9 but I ended up completely out of shape on the 8th hole going all the way right and making a few terrible club choices I ended up scoring 10 on the hole (ouch) I finished the front 9 on 51 after making par on the 9th.
I started the back 9 just as well as the front making par on the 10th the problem was it was getting dark and by the 15th we had to call it quits as we couldn't see anything (a nice long walk back in the dark) the best part of my round was my chip on the 13th I hit a long iron but ended up over the back of the green took out my 65' loft wedge hit the ball sweet 25 feet high and landed no more than 10 inches from the hole it took a soft bounce and rolled straight in it was by far the best chip in I have ever done, its shots like that which make me love this stupid game.
and to top things off this morning my Garmin s4 has arrived it looks great feels great and cant wait to get back out and use it on a course, I have only used a mates Garmin GPS once before so I don't have anything to compare this to but I will write a review of it if anyone else is thinking of making the same purchase.
Happy golfing.
Golfing nets are a waste of time I bought a fairly expensive one and after 10 or so shots I had put the ball straight through it, stick to the range would be my advice.

Most likely a grip issue, or swing path.
Check out Mark Crossfeilds videos on youtube there's a lot of driving videos out there.
I used to suffer a terrible slice, My pro changed my grip slightly, taught me to basically loosen up all over and try and hit with my mouth open (relaxes my upper body)
