Also very impressed with the Wilson DX2 soft balls I used for the first time. Clearly quite long but feels like a much softer ball when putting and chipping.
Long off the tee - SOFT AROUND THE GREENS!! hehe
If you like dx2's then please try the dunlops I mentioned earlier, they're in a different league imo smile
I've not tried them, it's just that damn advert on Sky!!!

Am playing more golf and my next investment is a golf trolley. Like choosing clubs, this is doing my head in. Not interested in electric / powered, so looking at pull carts only and they range from £25 to £700 (yes £700 http://www.americangolf.co.uk/gps-bags-equipment/p... and I honestly don't know what goes into choosing. My only requirement is something that folds down fairly compactly. I went into local american golf on saturday which was a mistake as it was just so busy I couldn't get any member of staff's attention for the 30 mins I was there and I can't make it during the week, so over to you guys. Budget around £100, and at that price point, there's hundreds!

Help?
I have a Sun Mountain Micro Cart (and I have a matching bag which locks into the base of the trolley).

It's brilliant - stable (4 wheels). Super compact (folds up real small for the boot of your car) and light. Also has a very handy storage bag underneath.

If you could afford repalcing your bag with a matching Sun Mountain one then I'd do it - it's a very good, secure system. Something like:

Had an early morning foursome this morning.

Myself (17) and my partner (15) played a couple of guys both off 8.

We thrashed them 7&5 smile

It's a beautiful afternoon - I might go down the club tonight and hit a few balls on the practice ground smile

I've replaced my range sessions recently with sneaky trips to the parkland near my house, just a wedge and a handful of old balls. There really is no substitute for hitting off grass, quite pleased with my divot patterns and ball flight too.
I agree - luckily my club range/practice ground is beautiful turf. Not a mat in sight!

Does anyone have any experience with the Garmin G3 or G5 golf GPS?

I can't use my iPhone app anymore (GolfShot - which is excellent) because my club is so strict when it comes to mobile phones on the course.

I don't like wearing a watch when I play so that rules out the watch based GPS.

The G3 is only £99 now (and there are some G3's and G5's on eBay that are cheaper than that).

Any info would be great.

Many thanks!

I've just watched Keegan Bradley hit a fairway wood from a fairway bunker and nearly get an albatross on a par 5.

A 3' putt for eagle.

Stunning shot!

Well, I think I/we won Saturday's 'best ball' tournament - still waiting to hear officially because I didn't stick around for the results (V8 Supercars on tv, priorities and all).

It was a drawn pairs, best ball (best stableford score of your pair used) game, I played with the ex-club President and out of our 45 stableford points 43 were his and despite his crippling emphysema he shot a 3 over par 74 off of a 9 handicap in very mushy conditions.

I shot an awful 19 over par 90, can't remember playing even one decent shot and feel embarrassed to get first place.
hehe

I was kinda joking but personally, that's what good water proofs are for IMO.

Some of my favourite rounds have been in the rain.

If the course is open, I'm playing wink
I agree - I'd rather it pissing down than blowing a gale.

Well, since I received my hadicap (17) my game has gone to st hehe

Struggling to get 20 points at the moment - blobbed 7 holes yesterday! Although they were all by just 1 shot and I didn't do any worse than a 7 on any particular hole.

My tee shots are costing me dearly at the moment.

Haven't used them in any torrential weather yet to be honest.

On very wet, dewy mornings they've been fine though.

Getting low on balls so ordered some more.

I'm a bit anal when it comes to using the same ball - I like to know they are all the same.

So I've just bought a load of pearl grade Callaway Hex Chrome, I seem to prefer Callaway balls smile

Fats, always mark your ball!

I use Sharpie ultra fine permanent markers and colour a pattern of dimples with my initial.
