Also very impressed with the Wilson DX2 soft balls I used for the first time. Clearly quite long but feels like a much softer ball when putting and chipping.

Am playing more golf and my next investment is a golf trolley. Like choosing clubs, this is doing my head in. Not interested in electric / powered, so looking at pull carts only and they range from £25 to £700 (yes £700 http://www.americangolf.co.uk/gps-bags-equipment/p... and I honestly don't know what goes into choosing. My only requirement is something that folds down fairly compactly. I went into local american golf on saturday which was a mistake as it was just so busy I couldn't get any member of staff's attention for the 30 mins I was there and I can't make it during the week, so over to you guys. Budget around £100, and at that price point, there's hundreds!
Help?
I have a Sun Mountain Micro Cart (and I have a matching bag which locks into the base of the trolley).Help?
It's brilliant - stable (4 wheels). Super compact (folds up real small for the boot of your car) and light. Also has a very handy storage bag underneath.

If you could afford repalcing your bag with a matching Sun Mountain one then I'd do it - it's a very good, secure system. Something like:

I've replaced my range sessions recently with sneaky trips to the parkland near my house, just a wedge and a handful of old balls. There really is no substitute for hitting off grass, quite pleased with my divot patterns and ball flight too.
I agree - luckily my club range/practice ground is beautiful turf. Not a mat in sight!Does anyone have any experience with the Garmin G3 or G5 golf GPS?
I can't use my iPhone app anymore (GolfShot - which is excellent) because my club is so strict when it comes to mobile phones on the course.
I don't like wearing a watch when I play so that rules out the watch based GPS.
The G3 is only £99 now (and there are some G3's and G5's on eBay that are cheaper than that).
Any info would be great.
Many thanks!

Well, I think I/we won Saturday's 'best ball' tournament - still waiting to hear officially because I didn't stick around for the results (V8 Supercars on tv, priorities and all).
It was a drawn pairs, best ball (best stableford score of your pair used) game, I played with the ex-club President and out of our 45 stableford points 43 were his and despite his crippling emphysema he shot a 3 over par 74 off of a 9 handicap in very mushy conditions.
I shot an awful 19 over par 90, can't remember playing even one decent shot and feel embarrassed to get first place.
