I think maybe B would be soul destroying on a bad day. However 2 of my friends are members there so I suppose even though the members are not very nice I've got my mates to play with.

It's just what the teams are like to play (when I'm good enough to play in them).

I'd say A as well. When you're just getting into Golf it's great for confidence to have somewhere a bit easier, you're less likely to get demotivated and sack it all in. Then, as mentioned, look to join somewhere more challenging in a couple of years.

Chaps, before I ebay them I'm selling:

Cobra amp cell driver - Regular shaft - Good condition club and a joy to hit. Have upgraded to a new driver with a stiffer shaft for my swing though. Looking for £90

Ping Eye 2 black dot 4-SW - Pretty good condition for their age, probably need regripping but other than that all good. Reg steel shafts. Make me an offer!

Right, I've decided on the Ping i25's.

Just couldn't hit as many nice shots with the TM TP CB's (what a mouthful!).

Having my final fitting session tonight. Once that's done I'll order 3 of the Scor wedges (have decided to stick with the i25 PW and get GW, SW, LW in the Scor clubs).

You are probably hitting on an outside to in swingpath, with an open club face. SLICE.

You need to try and hit on an inside to out swingpath, and hopefully hit a nice draw.

Very good Rosscow.

Also try one or all of these.

Slow your swing speed down - it lets your arms catch up with body, closes the face and it'll probably fly just as far.

Stand closer to the ball.

Tee the ball up at your front foot.

Aim right, it encourages you to 'come round' (someone on here - Rosscow? - taught me that)

Keep your head and chest down, 'coming up' out of the shot often puts you on your back foot and opens the face.
Or put a video up on youtube and link it here.

TBH you don't need an in to out swing path, you don't need an out to in swing path. What you need is a consistent swing path that aligns to the club face at impact, so you hit the same shot shape time after time after time. That way you know exactly how much "curve" to accommodate when you choose where to aim your shot. Virtually no pro golfer on the planet hits a dead straight shot, even with the short irons, but the amount the ball moves in the air in either direction is virtually the same each and every time, so they know where to aim to accommodate that movement.

Without seeing what you're doing and how you're gripping the club, most advice is merely guesswork and may not be helpful. I wouldn't simply say "aim right and come around", if you have a big slice and topping it regularly, there is something much more fundamental that needs correcting, mostly likely in the grip, posture/set-up and/or takeaway of the club, which your teaching pro should be able to spot pretty easily and know the right drills to eradicate.

Completely agree - which is why I suggested investing in some lessons!

How often do you play?

In my opinion to get down to single figures you need to be playing at least twice a week, and practicing on top.

I play at least once a week, and try to go to the range at least once a week (or play 9 holes after work).

I'm currently off of 17 but can see myself being down to 12/13 if I carry on like I am.

I was only thinking the other day how I must be getting better as I'm now disappointed if I shoot 90.

I'm playing at least once a week along with a trip to the range

Looking forward to the review of the wedges.

I like the look of them, but a colleague at work bought some and hated them.

Let us know how you get on please smile

my last three scores were 92, 94, 98
sometimes I can quite easily hit 3 rounds in the 100s but that doesn't happen very often.
howblong did it take other people to see significant improvements in their game?

Will do! I've only read good things about them, and it sounds like they suit my swing type so should be good.

Will keep you posted!

Hi All

Any help out there, I have developed a bad habit where by I drive the ball into the ground about 10 inches in-front of the tee!!!!! Everything seems the same and I've not changed anything. I've tried increasing the height of the tee, moving it around in my stance, slowing the back swing down anything I can think of. I will have a lesson but not just now as I have a golf day next Friday and I know the Pro will ruin me in the short term. Anyone any quick fix ideas?
