I've decided to keep a video log of my Golf progression and thought for kicks I would upload to YouTube as I can’t access my swing via GASP due to my instructor not having registered for that facility I play off 20 unofficially, but I take that with a pinch of salt as I can have some really shocking rounds lately I have really seen some lower scores.
I would be interested in what you guys think I'm practicing with my Taylormade R1 Driver

Your swing is way better than a 20HC imo, where are you losing your shots?I would be interested in what you guys think I'm practicing with my Taylormade R1 Driver

Very nice swing

IMHO there's many things right and wrong with your swing. for example...(again, just my opinion) you're a bit too upright and appear to be on your heels a little bit, it's a sport...you should be 'on your toes' i don't mean completely...but i'd say you need to feel 60% weight towards your toes, 40% towards your heel.I would be interested in what you guys think I'm practicing with my Taylormade R1 Driver

Also looks like you 'straighten' your right leg on the back swing...which will possibly cause fat shots with irons depending how steeply you come down on your irons.
whack up a 6 iron swing, might be easier to analyse.
Definitely a decent starting point...you'll probably see more improvement swinging how you are currently & spending your time bringing your short game up to scratch! For every hour on the driving range, you should be spending 2 hours on your chipping, putting & bunker play...Oh if only we all had the time for that though .

My wedges are fairly good anything from around 90 yards I can usually hit the green, where I slip up is my chip shots anything around the green I generally miss hit and end up sending the ball straight over the green or bobble it in front of me.
My long irons can be a bit sketchy at times but I had a greater success with my 4 and 5 iron than the driver until recently.
I appreciate all the feedback and will take it onboard, I’m booking some on course management lessons soon so hopefully all that’s going wrong with my chip shots are the wrong club selection but who knows.
My swing with my irons is slightly different but only when it comes to impact.
I will be heading to the range again this week so will upload a few iron shots, I manage once a week at the range or on a course playing, if only there were more hours in a day.

Thank you
you've clearly marked out where your losing shots...get that short game practiced! There's tons of videos on short game...Mark Crossfield (has been mentioned in this thread many times) has some excellent drills on youtube that i'm sure would help...weight forward...use shoulders not wrists etc etc!

Most of my shots were lost on the tee, I usually ended out of bounds, behind a tree or landing in an unplayable lie that has now change, my finial lesson was working on my driver and over the last 2/3 weeks I now play a far straighter shot and take my second shot from the fairway.

There's a huge opportunity to save shots, without too much effort. The correct technique isn't difficult at all, once you know what to do.My wedges are fairly good anything from around 90 yards I can usually hit the green, where I slip up is my chip shots anything around the green I generally miss hit and end up sending the ball straight over the green or bobble it in front of me.

Being good at chipping will give you an extra 3-4 one-putts a round.
(and help break the heart of whoever you're playing against, who won't be expecting up-and-down from you, most of the time)

I must admit whenever I practice I don't focus on chip shots, I only end up chipping when out on the course.Being good at chipping will give you an extra 3-4 one-putts a round.

As I'm not a club member I don't have easy access to a chipping green so it can make things a little difficult

I like watching Mark Crossfield videos I really enjoy the course vlogs, blogs or whatever you call them, some of the drills have been helpfull when playing from the rough or a down/uphill lieget that short game practiced! Just watched your vid again ( only saw it on my phone before ) Not bad at all really. Certainly a good base to progress from.
On a couple of shots you kinda look like you slightly loose balance on the follow through or maybe you just moved, Don't do that hold the finish position like you did on the other shots.
Like someone else said you look a bit as if the weight is on your heels. Bend your knees a little more and get more weight in the balls of your feet that will help with the above.

Played Oulton Hall yesterday, shot a round of 89 (after not playing since March), including parring 6 holes and bogeying 8.
Driving was to blame as I couldn't seem to get any control over my fade (always been the case). Booked myself in for a driver fitting for Monday, hopefully it's gonna be of some benefit, otherwise I'll end up leaving the driver at home and playing an iron off of the tee.

Keep an eye on the sole of the I25's. For some reason certain batches are de-laminating. (No worries though, ping will replace any irons ASAP if this happens)
Otherwise top choice!
Just bought myself 2 new wedges after bending a shaft in one and snapping another. (I'm such a beast you see). So I have 2 new Callaway Forged wedges in bound for winter. Can't wait for new grooves.

New set of Ping i25's ordered, along with G25 driver, G25 3 wood and 20 degree G25 hybrid.
New Scor wedges should be here next week.
Just need to iron out the putter!
That's some serious cash blown right there! Great work!New Scor wedges should be here next week.

Those Scor wedges get some fantastic reviews. You'll have to let us know what they play like!

That's great golf, JNJ! Well done!
Yesterday whilst sorting my clubs out at the pro shop I managed to catch the half time leader of the club championships tee off on the 10th (36 holes in one day).
That particular golfer plays off of PLUS 4. Serious golf.
Plus 4? that's impressive stuff.....any reason he or she isn't considering turning pro & competing?! Had a knock today, play off 14...managed a huge 24 points...102 on a par 69. not happy considering last weekend I hit an 83 with a 9 on the card (5 off the tee, whoops!)Yesterday whilst sorting my clubs out at the pro shop I managed to catch the half time leader of the club championships tee off on the 10th (36 holes in one day).

Still, next round is Tuesday at Kings Hill, haven't played there before but have had lessons with Ben Blackburn there and the facilities looked very impressive.
