If you really want to treat yourself then forget the MB's, you will find no better golf club than this.

They are quite simply the best feeling irons you are ever likely to hit.

Expect to empty your wallet a few times over for a set though.

My previous bag/trolley was a Sun Mountain combo and I couldn't fault them - top quality gear.

This is the new 'Tour Series' bag, it's bloody lovely!

All i know for definite is that i'd love a crack at a 'Proper' European tour venue from competition tees...just to see how my game would cope...

Pretty sure I wouldn't be the only one here to relish that challenge!
I've played 2, it is night and day the difference set up makes.

First was Emirates Golf Club where I learned to play the game (hosts the Desert Classic), I can break 80 round there off the blues (second longest tees) with my eyes closed. Play it the week after the Classic and it is a whole different monster.

Length isn't really the issue from the blacks although does toughen up a few of the par 4's and makes one of the 5's unreachable in 2 but if you miss a fairway you literally have to stand on your ball to find it, they overseed for the tournament and it's literally hack it out and hope for an up and down from fairway to make par. Add in that the greens stimp around 12.5 and are much harder and getting up and down from around the greens if you miss them (and end up in the same bloody rough) is really tough. It's like you are playing a different golf course, the only advantage you have from knowing the course inside out are lines of tees and general slopes in greens but they all breaks are so exagerrated as the greens are so much quicker.

Second is Earth where they play the Dubai World Championship, they have a gross competion off the tournament tees for a spot in the pro am. It's not set up exactly as the tournament is (greens aren't as quick) but it is an absolute monster of a golf course from back there, circa 7,500 yards

The winning scores since they started the event have been -23, -14, -19, -23 and -25, its fking scary how good those boys are at golf!

Weird story that. If true you can see why it would weigh heavy on you.

Take the massive payout and never play as a pro on tour again, Or play on the tour and risk what money you do have.

But peanuts compared to what he'd won/be given if he gets back to where he was...

Thats the thing. If he could get back to were he was he had won 12mil in a 3 years.
He could win more he could bust out and not hit those heights.

Drop off the tour teach at a club and take 20mill seems an ok plan.

Coke and crack don't mix well with being a professional golfer...

The PGA Tour's stance on recreational drugs is interesting to say the least, all geared (not intended;)) around how they get the USA team through the Olympics, weed is rife by all accounts.

That sounds brilliantly frustrating. But you're right...Top 50 Golfers are scary good, i'd love to be that good at absolutely ANYTHING in life...ha!

Played again today & finished 2 under handicap...absolutely made up as my chipping was horrendous. Holed a lot of 8ft+ putts today! Happy chappy!

Rosscow-great to see you've got your gear in time to play at the weekend! Enjoy!!

I've known about Miura clubs for a while...i just couldn't ever bring myself to spend 2k on irons....i could just about convince myself to part with £800 for the titleists! Thanks for the suggestion though! wink

Great ball the Bridgestone. The B330S particularly so. Should try the wee Wilson DX2 soft too.

However if I'm honest it's Titleist or Srixon for me
