He could take longer. I'd worry about his decision making as league is more structured where As in union you tend to play what is in front of you more, add in the fact he is a prop forward in league then you can see the difficulties he will face.
That said he is one of the NRL's best and will be arguably the best athlete in that England team, similar to SBW who also excels in both codes - he took 12 months to understand the differences between the codes though...

I reckon Burgess will do well, I expect himinitally to be at least be as good as Tuilagi but will tackle better. Eastmond got hung out to dry in the third test, I hope he gets another shot, he played scrum half at St Helens from what I remember and is a bit different to anything else out there at the moment-could be a strong potential partnership with Burgess at Bath.
He did indeed play scrum half for St Helens, they almost ruined him by doing so. They tried to mould him into an organising scrum half. I have no idea why and it failed, Eastmond is a freakish talent with the ball in hand, he's a fantastic ball runner and in rugby league that's mostly the full back. He can't defend for s

Im inclined to agree about KE now Ive seen a few games of him up a level. His defensive reading is...er...zilch. As a fb he would be a disaster in Union. Billy didnt just have the feet he had an instinctive talent of reading the field in front of him. He translated that into defense aswell. KE seems not to have that all inclusive level of talent unfortunately 
Thread revival - with the commonwealth games 7's now over but becoming an olympic sport, and scotland having 2 full time 15 players in the squad, do you think any current england union or league players could be in with a good shout at getting a medal?

I doubt England will go that way, the 7's squad is trained by a wholly different team. But isn't it going to be a GB team not an England team? That might open up the selection to a wider range of players...?Eastmond could do really well at 7's, strong, quick and runs good lines.
Stating the obvious but 7's is a very different game for XV's. I'm not sure how dropping in a few 'mercs' would alter many teams chances, unless perhaps they were involved in for at least a good couple of rounds of the circuit. I remember Steffon Armitage popping up few seasons back.
If I was a 7's player I'd also be pretty hacked off if I lost my place to someone who appeared just appeared for the Olympics.

IIRC, Tait played in the last CW games, whilst he was at Newcastle Falcons, so some players do play both at the same time
Agreed that it's completely different game and for all intensive purposes, a different sport, but would love to see players like Croft, Brown, Zebo, Cuthbert and North line up along side the regular 7's team for Team GB in Rio

I would try and keep the core of a squad together. A well drilled 7s squad will beat a bunch of superstars brought together for one tournament.
Also, these guys churn away for the home nations 7s all season, I wouldn't want to piss on their chips by giving the shirts for the big show to a bunch of star names bought in for 'wow' factor.
Interesting question: Ireland. Where do the northern Irish lads play? Ireland (as if it were 15s) or for Team GB/NI?

I don't have Sky - will there be some coverage on ITV3 or somesuch to catch the highlights?
I could watch any game of rugby in any format, and the standards and popularity of women's rugby is definitely improving. I'm more than happy to cheer on England too, particularly as they have a good chance in this tournament.

NZ look the more settled side so far IMO. Few strange selection choices for the Aussies too with Beale at 10. They've a few 10's on the pitch actually. They're much improved since the Lions tour.

Been all the Aussies this half, not putting their chances away though. They haven't picked any wingers either which isn't helping.Not the conditions for attacking/running rugby but surprised at the lack of attacking threat from the AB's.
