Indeed. I thought the comparison with Nadal (one of the greatest ever, big match performer, etc) would have pleased the Welsh supporters <shrug>

I've been invited to coach smile So so chuffed!
Was drinking in my local last night and turned out I was drinking with the former national coach and now coach of the locals and he invited me into the team!!

It's strictly v minor county level before anyone accuses me of pretending it's a big deal but for some reason it has made me really quite deliriously happy! Yay smile NorthernBall is coming to Holland smile

What hell is going on with biggar's ritual. It gets worse - longer and more twitching and grasping - with every game.
Shoulder, shoulder, hair, shoulder, hair, twitch, twitch, shoulder, hair, kick, blah.

Annoying as hell, irritates me in a way tennis players having to wipe their face with a towel after every rallye does, but I guess it works for him!
As a Welsh supporter, I don't really care if he picks his nose for 30 seconds and licks it for the TV cameras, as long as the ball goes between the uprights when he does kick it.

Shuffle on, Dan. Shuffle on. smile Heeeeey, Macarena!

You see - I don't like this way of thinking.
Fiji playing with ball in hand isn't really the issue, it's about doing it in the right areas. If you consistently try to run the ball in your own 22 more often than not you're in for a world of hurt. I'd also say the Fijians don't have the fitness to back up 80 mins of this sort of game.

Saturday England really need to lower the penalty count, in Farrell we do have a much better place kicker than Foley. Lauchburry will help at the breakdown but won't be able to do it alone.

Of course he can kick, he's not world class though and i believe Farrell is.

10 days rest then Oz is a nice prep

I notice that of all teams in Pool A England had 8 days rest then 7 then 7 then 6.
Wales Oz and Fiji 6 days then 5 days then 10 days.

Make of that as you will but additional days recovery time is an advantage for England over the others.

May I ask if you boys are serious with the 'anyone but/against England'? Or is it just to guarantee passage to the quarters?

I know the 6N is different and although I had quite a few cheers for Fiji at the game yesterday, if it doesn't impact England then my order would be :

1). Eng
2). Ire
3). Wales
4). The minnow/underdog
5). Japan
6). Begrudgingly the jocks

smile

Ps - obviously Scotland might be lower than that as they sometimes fall in section 4! Well mostly in fact beer

The anyone but England mentality belongs to football and it's supporters. Which is why I think such comments come from fair weather/part time rugby fans.

I'd support any home nation against another team unless perhaps if it's a minnow that no one expects to win.

England vs Australia is a tricky one for me to choose a preferred winner... there is a certain amount of satisfaction in seeing both teams lose! hehe

I noted this earlier in the thread.

Wales first 3 games in 11 days, (Sun/Sat/Thu) only 5 days recovery for 3rd game a tough tie against Fiji.

England first 3 games in 15 days (Fri/Sat/Sat) and with their final fixture in the group last against the group whipping boys in the position of knowing how many they need to score in the event of a points tie.

Still, if we were the home side and organising the tournament I'd expect the same sort of bias.

Regards to the game tomorrow, I'll be cheering on Aus. Not because I'm an ABE but because it represents Wales' best chance of qualification.

Reminds me of Nadal's pre-serve ritual, although at least Biggar doesn't pick his shorts out of his arse each time (yet!).
Tournament kick success rate: 100%

Routine: WGAF.

The concern for Wales - and him - though is that the ritual is getting longer. It could cause him problems in time.

Red Jersey wearer here. :hello:
If I had an Anyone But England mentality, I'd be sleeping in the spare room a lot! I think it's good to see a good game, regardless of who's on the pitch.

it depresses me a bit, I'd quite like to see Wales go through the group stage but I don't seem to feel much love coming the other way.

What I'm not too keen on is some people in my aquaintance who hail from Cornwall. These guys are in the "Anybody but England, especially if it's Wales" camp. So not only do they froth at the mouth whenever England play Wales or lose to NZ, Ireland etc, but they also chuck in at every opportunity the rape and systematic ethnic cleansing that has been going on in their "country" for the last few hundred years.

These have all been defriended on facebook as the Scotland independence vote and general election last year just got too much. But due to friends of friends, their comments have been appearing to annoy me.
