May I ask if you boys are serious with the 'anyone but/against England'? Or is it just to guarantee passage to the quarters?

I know the 6N is different and although I had quite a few cheers for Fiji at the game yesterday, if it doesn't impact England then my order would be :

1). Eng
2). Ire
3). Wales
4). The minnow/underdog
5). Japan
6). Begrudgingly the jocks

smile

Ps - obviously Scotland might be lower than that as they sometimes fall in section 4! Well mostly in fact beer
I'm not anti-English per-se, I have a list much like yours and it pretty much mirrors yours, as your list, and comment, basically says anyone but Scotland.

I'm going to be flamed for this but, its not the country I have a dislike for, its the attitude of many a commentator/pundit/sportsman that England is still the world conquering country it once was. My personal satisfaction comes from players and fans realisation that they are mortal and will not sail through without opposition, although that hasn't necessarily been the case with "the group of death". Owen Farrels childishness (which has been highlighted in here before) doesn't prove to change my mind.

As another poster said, I am not a 'dry weather' fan who are only following rugby because there is a tournament on, I'm certainly not a football fan, I played rugby (not professional just local team) from 13 years old until I was 20(22 now) until DDDisease put stop to that.

Further to my post, I have no problem saying well done when they do well, beat Australia and that will be a brilliant result!

A friend of mine uses this expression and I've never understood it but I think it's appropriate in this case.

He's as thick as mince.

Given they are our opponents in a knock out competition I'm cheering on whichever result ensures Wales get through - a draw would be interesting too.

If Wales exit my other team from the draw turned out to be South Africa - so if they win the kitty is £50. I'll be cheering them on in a head to head v England or any side unless it's Wales.

No issue to cheer on England either or even grudgingly acknowledge a good victory over Wales.

10 days rest then Oz is a nice prep

I notice that of all teams in Pool A England had 8 days rest then 7 then 7 then 6.
Wales Oz and Fiji 6 days then 5 days then 10 days.

Make of that as you will but additional days recovery time is an advantage for England over the others.
But then ask yourself how the hell you're playing home games in someone else's world cup?

I've never understood the England supporters expect to win whinge against us. England supporters are the most pessimistic going!!! We always expect to fk it up somehow! That goes double if you are a cricket fan!!!

Plenty of ABE supporters at the game last night, felt just like a footy crowd at times.

I'll only be donning the Australia shirt as it's in Wales best interests, as i'm sure many England fans will be the following week when we play them

Oh I dunno. If the Crims smash the Orcs, I'd fully expect all of England to throw their weight behind Wales to not only beat the Crims but win the World Cup.

If England don't make it out of the group, I'm hoping for a northern hemisphere team to win. I don't really mind which one, so I'll support the NH teams against the SH teams and make a decision on NH-NH / SH-SH matches on the day hehe

I can't speak for the rest of England, but my own personal 17 stone will certainly be thrown enthusiastically behind Wales if England don't make it out of the group.

Beyond that, I'd consider myself neutral in most cases, so would support the underdog if there clearly is one, the team playing the most attractive rugby if there isn't a clear underdog, or the team playing against Scotland if Scotland are playing.

For all the rivalry of various other nations towards England, I've only ever experienced any sort of unpleasant edge to it from the Scots. Over the years, I've seen all of the other Six Nations, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand play at Twickenham, and always ended up having a laugh getting pissed with the opposing fans (even the Saffers after England beat their boys 53-3) after the game, so why is it that the Scots' shoulder chip is so much bigger than anyone else's?

What hell is going on with biggar's ritual. It gets worse - longer and more twitching and grasping - with every game.
Shoulder, shoulder, hair, shoulder, hair, twitch, twitch, shoulder, hair, kick, blah.

Annoying as hell, irritates me in a way tennis players having to wipe their face with a towel after every rallye does, but I guess it works for him!
As a Welsh supporter, I don't really care if he picks his nose for 30 seconds and licks it for the TV cameras, as long as the ball goes between the uprights when he does kick it.

Shuffle on, Dan. Shuffle on. smile Heeeeey, Macarena!
I cannot stand Farrell's pre-kick routine. He seems to have a face you could easily punch.

If England go out, I'm backing Ireland. Deserving of support and to win the whole thing in lots of ways.
