Just on the news England RFU coaches being investigated as they spoke to a match official at half time - this is banned for any game.

Winning is all that I'm interested in, if England did ranked 10th I wouldn't be worried.
I don't get your logic. The rankings reflect exactly that - whether you're winning or losing. If England dropped to 10th it would be because they hadn't been winning much (or at all) lately. If they then started winning again, they wouldn't stay at 10th for very long!I get that the more you win the higher you go (duh!), but at the end of the day it's the result of the given match that matters.

So far, he's been the latest in a long and rarely interrupted line of league converts who've failed at Union, so hopefully you're right and he'll go back to the simpler code. If you speak to him, please could you ask him to take the Farrell family with him?
I so hope I'm right great player. As for Faz errr no you welcome to him. Great player in his day though.dav123a said:

I was just pondering regarding the dead rubber at Old Trafford this weekend.
The RFU no doubt scheduled all the fixtures to give England the best advantage at HQ against the key opposition. Then when they didn't need the home advantage of Twickenham against the minnows they envisaged taking England rugby out to the shires, spread a bit of love and have a glorious 5pt celebration of qualification for the quarters... and now it's basically a non-event.
However I do genuinely hope that the team are received well and that the crowd get right behind them because god knows the players need some positivity.

Oh well at least the WRU will be debt free within the next 3 years. Totally debt free stadium paid off etc.
Now even more investment st grass roots can commence
The WRU have a great deal to be grateful for about the Football Association's inability to get the new Wembley built and finished on time. All those football matches in Cardiff went a long way to paying for the Millennium Stadium, and by extension will secure funding for Welsh Rugby from money they didn't fork out paying back the mortgage. Now even more investment st grass roots can commence

World Rugby should just concentrate on running the game, instead of stupid investigations into 'nothing'. Why shouldn't they ask? About time, England are on the end of some pretty ropey referee decisions....and have been for years.Alex Langheck said:

Also they use the stadium for concerts monster truck racing world of champions etc. it's literally on the go all the time which is really how every stadium should organise - the bonus is debt free sooner plus the local businesses get s nice windfall too.

That's strange, I thought it was just Ireland who suffered from this (and Wales, and Scotland, and France...)Davey S2 said:
I'm surprised that England are out but not as shocked as the majority of their supporters are.
There is an unrealistic level of expectation on England which needs to be addressed. They are not up there with New Zealand. They are not significantly better than Wales, Ireland or France.
Since they won the World Cup in 2003 they have won the 6 Nations once. They haven't won any Grand Slams in that time either. Given that performance over that length of time why would they be seen as serious contenders now?
I can fully understand the frustrations. England has more registered players than all of the other 6 nations countries AND NZ, SA, AUS and ARG combined. They have more funding than NZ, AUs & SA combined.
They can start by getting shot of people like Rob Andrew.
If you look back since 1987 at the results of the Five Nations sides against the southern "big three", it makes for sobering reading: every southern team is ahead on wins against all five northern sides (only France v SA and Eng vs Aus get even close to parity). There is an unrealistic level of expectation on England which needs to be addressed. They are not up there with New Zealand. They are not significantly better than Wales, Ireland or France.

But the stats show that historically only England and France have had the ability to go toe to tow with the southern sides. Wales + Ireland + Scot vs SA + NZ + Ire: a total of 172 games. A total of 8 wins for the northern hemi sides. A total of zero wins against NZ...
Some rumours emerging ahead of the Orc team announcement at 12.30.
Reading that apparently Ford and Farrell have never started for England before. Laughable.

Our man in the field Gavin Mairs believes the the England coach will name four new players in a much-changed back line for the Uruguay game, which will read: Danny Care, George Ford, Jack Nowell, Owen Farrell, Henry Slade, Anthony Watson and Alex Goode.
Farrell at 12? JJ on the bench? Are no lessons being learned at all?Reading that apparently Ford and Farrell have never started for England before. Laughable.
