We wouldn't be able to keep using that excuse if the England coaching team actually carried on selecting the same players, would we now? hehe
hehe

If we get four more years of Russian roulette selection at this pace I'll be expecting a phone call shortly before the next world cup. We might as well embrace it and start having celebrity cameos. I'm sure Paul Hollywood would give it a go.
It's all so much BS though.

The team that started against Australia averaged 32 caps. If they haven't worked out what to do after 32 matches I'd suggest they never will.

Poite is a poor referee, I hope he is not going to ref the quarters or semis. He is inconsistent and sometimes seems to be reffing a different sport altogether.

Barnes, Owen, Joubert (can be odd) and Jackson (can be inconsistent) are the pick of the bunch.

I miss Walsh, crap ref, but great for entertainment with inspirational tattoo and awesome hair. It was like watching a Timotei advert.biggrin

The boks are at best a quarter final team, I cannot see them progressing further. The team is not balanced, decent enough pack, but the backs look laboured. Once they are matched for physicality there is no plan B, just plan C and D which is the same as plan A just harder

I wasn't too sure of the Boks pre-tournament let alone post Japan. But they looked mighty handy against Samoa (who've been disappointing so far IMO) and Scotland. You know what's coming but if properly executed it's a very effective brand of rugby and difficult to stop. The two young locks look like world beaters, unbelievable work rate, carry all match long and made umpteen gain line breaks, just big bloke after big bloke coming at you.

I reckon it will be SA Vs Wales in the semis and sadly I can't see Wales having the personnel to beat them.

Certainly was! A great match.

The Fiji/Uraguay match looks quite interesting too.

Fiji just won a penalty try, no arms in the tackle - and a yellow card.

I like watching these lower tier games as it gives me more time to focus on the ref snd the play.

(I'm supposed to be reffing our U10s this year and whilst I'm looking forward to the challenge, I'm crapping myself about missing stuff).

Won't SA v Wales be a quarter-final match?

It's great rugby isn't it - a real shame to see them conceding another penalty try - but it is almost international level rugby and fantastic to hear the crowd really appreciating it all.

I have a spare £250 ticket for Wales Oz available at face value. Any takers?

If that bloody commentator mentions Nadolo's size one more time...

Ben Kay is a great pundit, though.

AWESOME atmosphere in the stadium for Uru try. If anyone saw a chap dancing in a Uru shirt in the East stand - that was me smile most of the Uru fans are in the West stand.

The first yellow was a joke, it was an awesome tackle. No yellow for either taking out in the air on the ko catch or the line out was unfair.

Uru are utterly screwed in the scrum though, they simply don't have one frown

I'm blessed - I get a choice of watching ITV or the Irish channel TV3 - I've swapped back and forth between the two and have firmly settled for the TV3 commentary which has been excellent.

I didn't see the one in the line out but the tackle when he was in the air was a fair call by the ref as Fijian was blocked just before the player in the air and not only couldn't he see fully, he also pulled back a bit.

Great effort by them.

Top stuff, I really should get little Ex out to see a few rugby matches. Glad you're enjoying it!

Indeed. The facts are the players know the game at that level and are fit and experienced. The let down is the play book from the coaching staff.
