Can't believe Earls dropped that ball!
Perhaps as surprised as we were to get through the line.
We watched up at the club house, there were a lot of handling errors tonight, then I noticed the cover was closed - I guess it was a bit humid in there tonight and the ball was slippery.

Still, a great result for Ireland, but the injuries look like a concern going forward.

Pity to see PO'C especially going down, hope it's not his last game in an Ireland shirt but suspect it might. Sexton will be back soon hopefully

But wow - Henshaw, Henderson, both Kearneys, Heaslip, S'OB, Madigan,... What a display, and probably the most complete Irish performance I've seen in years! Just need to handle the expectations now (the injury toll will probably help with that) and focus on Argentina next

Can't imagine the All Blacks are too keen on facing France again

Although the injuries are concerning I'm not too worried in that respect, the depth of the Irish squad is pretty good, and if anything they played more dynamically. More concerned with injuries regarding Munster, don't like seeing O'Mahony and Earls nursing injuries.

Ireland showed their strength today, never lost control, controlling the ball brilliantly. Their disruption to French ball was excellent and with a weeks rest they'll be confident facing Argentina.

Wish I'd been at the Millennium stadium today, it sounded immense. I've usually been there for Ireland Wales in Six nations so not got to experience that kind of noise. Quite tempted to go to Cardiff next weekend and see it.

Can someone tell me what Basteraud actually adds to that French team? People rave about him as the 'near 20 stone centre' but Keith Earls is a lightweight in comparison and didn't appear remotely fazed with marking the brick sthouse, who just appears to clog up their attacks.

I also think his inclusion comes at a price to Fofana's performances too, who for me is probably the best centre in European rugby. Well, after Robbie Henshaw that is wink

Generally Ireland nuterlized Frances physicality today, hardly heard Picomoles name being mentioned. bdo, never been a fan and not just coz he's a cock (remember him getting pished in NZ and saying he was the victim of a racially motivated attack?!) I'm sick of telling the young lads at our club that you can't stand in a tackle against someone much bigger/more powerful you, regardless of how big you they aren't they can't run without their legs!

Please God, don't let ITV win the rights to any more rugby.

These close-ups of the action mean you can't see what 2/3 of he players are doing.

I enjoyed it no end. I like the way there were two different styles of playing in the two halves. The first was a bit feeling one-another out. The second half was letting rip.

Whilst there is a great depth to the team, they've lost some key players.

End to, as they say, end stuff.

USA seem well drilled.

Japan are very unlucky if (as looks likely) they put away the USA. 3 wins, including S Africa, and they don't go through. I do like the bonus points system, but it's a bit harsh at times

Japan deserve a huge round of applause for their performance in this tournament - they've been a joy to watch and I'm going to miss them.

Might see if I can make it over there in 4 years time.

Well that's the group stage finished , no real surprises with all the best teams progressing to the 1/4 finals.

Japan unlucky to win 3 and not go through.
