If I've read the BBC article correctly it was dangerous tackling - and they were apparently reported by an Australian.

Which seems a bit suspect to me.

I think Ireland will win over the weekend. All the other N hemisphere teams are going to get a complete pasting.

Not sure how reliable yet, but rumours coming out of France of a revolt against saint-andre, could be a coachless French team against the AB's. If so I wouldn't put it past them to win. Sacre bleau!

Apparently the French have been coaching themselves this week and already sacked PSA - So French!

I hadn't heard that they were reported by an Oz, but I had read that the referee was happy with the tackle at the time and even made a statement saying so, which was swiftly ignored by the 'board'

Don't understand why the Ozzies would need a help to beat us laugh

It would be great if any rugby fans here could sign this petition to let Ian play again:

https://www.change.org/p/world-rugby-and-the-irfu-...

It seems fair enough to me smile

Is it pedantry to ask why you've got a picture of a coach in England oikball colours on a rugby thread?

Love this one...

An Englishman walks into a bar.

There is no Welshman or Irishman as they are still at the world cup...

I remember him at Leinster and the back story, but hadn't realised there was this petition. Signed!

It's been reported in the Telegraph that the French have revolted against Saint Andre! Thats a bit strange isn't it? Given that last week all I heard about the french camp was how happy they were, that they've never been so fit and were going to hammer Ireland.
A weeks a long time eh?!

I was listening to Will Greenwood on Sky who reckons the attrition rate has been much higher for the NH teams as we're not as naturally big as the SH sides so need to hit the gym hard to become 'artificially stronger' not sure it's as clear cut as that. Fair does the Maori's and pacific nations sides are made of different stuff, but the others are of European decent in NZ, Australia, and South Africa. Just thought it was quite an odd comment.
It is a bit of a funny idea. Giant hulking NZ players like, uh, Conrad Smith? hehe

Isn't that what effectively happened to Brian Ashton in 2007?

from the petition... " However, during that time, his good eye was deliberately gouged during two All-Ireland League matches." Say what now????? Who the fk gouges someone's remaining eye (TBF gouging itself is reprehensible enough)?

If true, I'm not really surprised, as the Ireland game must have been the final straw for those guys. I wonder where that leaves Blanco though

Supposedly Parra starting and Bastareaud dropped

Not sure about Ireland - POC, O'Mahony and O'Brien out, and Sexton being nursed back to fitness; Argentina going well and scoring lots of tries. Think it could be an Argentina win, myself. Think Scotland will get stuffed and Wales v Boks - probably Boks by 7 points but, could conceivably go the other way.

Yep I'd rate Ireland 40/60 in favour of Argies and Wales 30/70 in favour of the Boks.

Hopefully both NH sides can pull off a famous win.

I can't see the Scots getting anything as I can see Australia winning the World Cup and with this game a convenient spring board for that.

Really looking forward to Boks vs Wales. Think it will be a brutal war of attrition and could go either way but feel the Saffers will edge it.

So which French team will turn up? With the latest revelations they could smash the AB's in true Gallic style. Or the AB's will win comfortably.....

Ire vs Arg. Ireland for me. Even with the sad injuries think they will not let this opportunity go and will have too much for the Argies.

A feast of Rugby, looking forward to it all!!
