Disappointed with the selection of tickets left on the website. Surprised games like Samoa v Japan have completely sold out. Ended up buying two tickets to the Saints v Quins game at Twickers after Christmas for my brother and me instead.

probably because that could well be a cracking game, played at pace and with some fearsome tackling....

Agreed. in 2011 Japan v Canada was one of the most entertaining of the entire tournament.

RWC organisers to produce 'idiot guide' for daytrippers.

Ideas thought to be under consideration include providing pamphlets explaining some of the laws to the uninitiated when the tickets are sent out, as well as graphics and video clips shown on big screens before and during matches and at official fan zones across the country.
Really???? Big screen clips explaining the laws whilst AT the games??? Please! rolleyes

corporate will be full of them, but not there to watch the rugby

As it is the RWC thread....

I am desperately trying to get hold of one more ticket for Scotland v Japan at Kingsholm? No joy on the round yesterday and none on resale for sensible cash.

I have two Scottish friends coming down to see the game WITH me but only two tix - doh!

Many thanks in advance smile

I thought the ticket prices were completely over the top.

So, I didn't apply for any.

Well, it seemed to make sense to me. If you think something is too expensive, then don't buy it.

This why I only went for Japan vs Samoa - reasonable prices & lunacy vs commitment. I really wanted England vs Fiji but £300ish a ticket??? No thanks

I received an(other) email from RWC on Thursday, offering me tickets. The include 'travel', but as I live about 6 miles from Twickenham, I don't think that it is strictly necessary!.

I have attempted a 'cut and paste', I hope it works.

At least your guy is injured - at least one of ours is due to rank stupidity (just waiting to hear about Mr Hartley frown)

I think it will be interesting to see what SL does now with Hartley?

Wasn't it the Lions tour he missed - certainly one of the high points in any player's career - through rank stupidity and abusing Wayne Barnes?

Can you imagine Brian Moore (or similar) playing against him? Remember when two Frenchies were sent off in the front row in the same game many years ago????

Personally, he has now shown too many errors and loose cannon type moments to trust him in the RWC.

Shame - both for him and England.

ps - As an after thought (doh!) what a shame SL didn't blood one or two younger types in the last few years. I am not 100% convinced by Youngs starting and Webber off the bench.....

I'm a Saints fan and even I think he's a liability... You can't have someone that easy to wind up in high stakes games, particularly in such a pivotal position in the team.

It's a shame, but he's had all the last chances he deserves IMO and definitely shouldn't be starting for England in the RWC, but like you say, the other options aren't totally convincing either!

I'm amazed he only got 4 weeks with his form sheet. The custard creams must have been particularly luxurious.

Gutted about JD. I really rate SW, but at 12 instead of Jaw. Given he's a 12 slotting him in at 13 is a bit of a make-do. It also leaves the back line a bit light in terms of depth, and also lacking a bit of guile, I'd put SW somewhere inbetween JD and Jaw in terms of skill with the ball in hand.

I see WG has called up Tyler Morgan who I think is a good prospect, but he's green. Very green. I doubt Hook will get drafted back in which is a shame. Just a shame His Shaved Orangeness bust a leg last weekend, surely he'd be a shoe-in wink

Also a Saints fan, I do wonder if we might see a change in captain next season. He's just so bloody frustrating, when you look back at Calum Clarkes incident he realised that he's got a serious problem and sought help from a sports psychologist, Dylan just seems to be too easy to wind up in the big games and is definitely on the ref radar (although both the ref and tmo said there was nothing in it, so I assume someone from sarries asked the citing officer to look at it again)
Very surprised that all of Burgers indiscretions in the match were overlooked (elbow to Harley's face, Burrell in a choke hold, fighting with Dickson).

On a side note did you see that James Wilson broke his arm in the first half but managed to play until half time

SL has put himself into a difficult position TBH - I would say that there's a strong argument that DH should miss RWC 2015. He's been given chance after chance and has already missed a year of his career through suspension not to mention the Lions - by all accounts off the field he is a lovely bloke but if he can't be trusted on it....
