Now to figure out some of the rules!
Essentially,
Rule 1 - You can't pick the ball up off ground or carry it in your hand.
Rule 2 - You score by getting the ball between the opponents posts, 1 point above the bar, 3 points below.
Rule 3 - There is no Rule 3. hehe

Yeah, I know it is a little bit more complicated than that - but it really is a Paddy 'n' Murphy game in terms of rules, the skill level on the other hand is astonishing.

Little Ex is playing the game and a while back at a training session I was messing about with one of the seniors/coaches, over about 40 to 50 metres (not even half pitch width) he could hit the ball to me and it would practically land in my hand.

An amazing game to watch, with a massive skill level.
Are you sure about rule 1? I know they can't pick it up, but they seem to run with it in hand (is there a number of steps or something that comes into play?)

Rule 2 was straight forward (keepers are clearly more mental than football keepers.)

How do you 'tackle'?

Rule 1 : you can take 4 steps with the ball in hand, whereby then you either have to strike it or solo it (run with the ball on the Hurley) you can touch the ball off of the Hurley and this allows you 4 more steps. You are only allowed a max of 2 catches though, and this includes your first time with the ball in hand.

Tackle isn't easy, you can stop the player but you cannot charge the player or hold on to them. The best time to tackle is obviously as the player has to touch the ball on the Hurley or goes to strike it, this gives you a short window to play the ball.

That is known as a hook, a skill on its own.

A draw is 8/1 with Paddy Power today, though we will have extra time. Throw in is at 5pm.

Tipp v Galway is an absolute belter, if you can tear yourself away from the bore fest that is City v Chelsea

Isn't it, my gut felling is that Galway deserve this, but it is very close!

Tipp seem intent on dropping the ball in and going for goal rather than taking their points, it could prove costly. Level with 5 minutes to go.

A credit to both teams, no one deserved to lose that, Tipp will be gutted.

Absolutely delighted with the result, I'm good friends with John Hanbury, the Galway fullback, which made the result even better!

Heart says Galway, head says Kilkenny. Hope we have a game worthy of an All Ireland Final. All the best to both teams.

Excellent game so far, Galway unerringly accurate early on, Waterford's first meaningful attack got them a goal, which kept them within touching distance after Galway's early scoring spree. Galway are doing all the hurling, but somehow Waterford are only a point adrift. Should be an enthralling second half, great game for the neutral with such a novel pairing.

A very emotional commentator summed it up perfectly. "Delighted for the people of Galway, heartbroken for the people of Waterford."

Brilliant game, Galway deserving winners. They also did the double, winning a cracking minor game earlier.

As there doesn’t seem to be a separate thread for the football, 5 in a row is still on.

GAA the big winners again today with another drawn final. Full house guaranteed again on Saturday week for the replay.

There should be a few tickets available for the replay.

What a great game, Kerry will be kicking themselves when they look back on that one I think.
