Cricket: 2014 India tour of England, 9th July-7th September
Discussion
Big day today, India are on top, but it isn't over yet for England, Root and Moeen Ali are good players, if they can hang in and score runs, change the strike regularly, England can draw or even win. Plus dangerman James Anderson is still here
Alastair Cook misused Moeen Ali. Moeen Ali is a pretty handy spinner, picks up wickets, and as he plays on, he can get better, but England do need a proper spinner.

This time last year we were thrashing the Aussies, what's gone wrong in just one year?
You can only paper over cracks for so long.Oh and Australia got their st together.
Ian bell is out of form badlu too. This is the same Ian Bell who scored three centuries in the home ashes series.
27 innings without a half century for Alastair Cook, never mind a century. Since the start of the 2013 ashes, he's averaged 23, and this year his average is 14.

England were undone by the short ball. The worst dismissal was Ben Stokes, why, why WTF would you play that shot?! His recent scores read like a foreign telephone number. 6 ducks in his last ten innings, including 4 in a row. His just living off the century he scored against the Aussies in the Ashes.
Liam Plunkett, Ballance, Moeen Ali and Joe Root have done alright IMO.

IMO Cook is being treated too kindly, if he wasn't captain, he would have been out of the side ages ago. I don't know what Graeme Swann has been smoking;
"He's standing tall and refusing to buckle. It's brilliant from him," Swann, who retired at the end of 2013, told BBC Sport.
"He has an inner steel, stronger than anyone else I've ever known. He's going to fight like hellfire to change it round."
'Brilliant'. Really??
