Alternatively, if the Indians decide they know how to bat they can keep the England side roasting in the field for a further two days knackering the main strike bowlers in the process.
This. England have form of collapsing like a house of cards too when chasing totals too.

Cook being a poor or good Captain is irrelevent, he only needs to be a good opener. He is doing nothing different to Strauss and Vaughan before him. The problem has been his own lack of runs up front. That has created this debate along with the decline of the England bowling unit. Runs come back to Cook and England rebuild a bowling unit and the debate goes away. England's next biggest problem isn't replacing Cook as skipper its turning one of Woakes, Jordan, Plunker, Finn into Anderson's replacement in the next two seasons. Cook will still be skipper come the next Ashes and it won't matter a damn compared to his form with the bat.

In Ballance, Root and Jos the Boss England already have their batting lineup for the next decade. Cook and Bell back in form and we have 5 more yes of them. That is a very solid England batting lineup for some yes to come. Runs is also this team needed to sort themselves out not a new skipper. Cook is the best opener in the world, England need him.

This series is going 1-1 tomorrow and will end as a series victory to England.

Five down, Anderson finding another edge. I told you nothing could go wrong.

I want to know, how much are the Indians being paid and who is stumping-up the cash?
Never mind that, Dhoni's gone, four more to get.

What really concerns me is that I might have to do some work this afternoon.

I'm not happy about all this anti prior stuff, I think its just his time - his boady is probably saying, 5 days is too much physically and mentally.

he might be back, who knows but on this showing virtually impossible to drop Buttler.

Matt prior has a test average of 40. most top order batsmen would kill for that average over that length of career and notwithstanding at times he getting 40-50 runs down the order consistently he was the worlds best for a while.

Seven!!!!

Moeen's figures are now better than Swann's early figures. There's less and less need to hunt for a specialist spinner.

Well bowled Ali. Clearly some work to be done, but could certainly become a very handy all rounder. Really need to get this lad a specialist spin coach. Lots of potential.

Told you they'd win. Cook is a genius for not enforcing the follow on. His knighthood cannot come too soon etc....

Well played all round as the commentary team were saying England won every session of the test.

Cook had a good test getting both runs and good captaincy/tactics. I still reckon he owes the team a lot more runs.

Butler looked good batted well in a low pressure situation but kept very well, and Ali's bowling is getting better by the game.

I reckon Plunkett will be back for Old Trafford, Anderson will be a huge loss if he does pick up a ban.

Still don't get the Sunday start and the attendance was apparently less than some T20 games this season.

....Cook seems to think if he starts getting runs again it will make him a good captain, it won't. A break from cricket won't either, he's been in the England set up for most of his first class career-around 8-9 years now? He's just not cut out to be captain regardless IMO....
Exactly.
I'm expecting the resignation press conference this afternoon.
