When was the last time England started batting on the first day before tea?

India will be down right now, let's keep them there for at least five sessions.

Well I gave Robson about 6-7 too many.

Chef let himself get ruled by the extra pace instead of waving for Aaron's radar to let him down.

Two down for 36.

I'm still not sure what Carberry did wrong to get dropped after the Ashes.

See earlier posts,

Had a falling out with Giles, wanted to be picked in the one day side, made some ill advised press comment, and is generally thought to be not the future on account of age.

Agree Robson will need a good second innings here to avoid being dropped.

Balance gone.

Jordan in as night watchman, which could well mean a lively session in the morning.

Just watched the 1st half of sky highlights of today's play. India 5 down.

It's been a long time since I have seen 3 England bowlers at consistently 85mph +, and accurate. Confidence and hunger is back!

Good to see the dismal second rate Aussie failing. No wonder he came here to play.

Cook threw his wicket - surprising after the poor run of form he is in.

India were 5th rate. Poor.

Don't think Robson has too many fans in English cricket, Yes we need an opener, (two in my opinion). but Robson hasn't seen off the new ball, made the fifty partnership or even got to the bowling change in the last few matches.... One century against Sri Lanka, seems about it.

Whilst a few of the Indians batted poorly, a lot more were out to balls that would have put anyone back in the hutch.

i suspect that Compton or Bairstow will come in for the final test unless Robson scores a lot of runs in the second innings, and I'm hoping that there won't be a second innings.

Can someone teach Jordan to run? his approach to the wicket reminds me of Bambi on ice, being ridden by Stephen Hawking.

If the sun is shining tomorrow then Bell, Jordan, Moeen, Root, Buttler and Broad will all want to score a few runs and I suspect they will, however 350 is a good total on that pitch the way it's swinging and 300 if it clouds over. Any more than that and we should be very happy.

Put between 150 - 200 on by tea tomorrow and have them back in. Against my usual grain I know but there is rain about and England want a chance at getting them asap. Its also a tool and in the Jim & Stuey show England have the best weapon in the match.

I'm looking forwards to seeing Jordan bat tomorrow. No pressure on him. I'm almost tempted to take a train up to Manchester.

Can see now why they didn't rate him in oz. limited shots and nicks off all the time. Shows how 5th rate county cricket is.

Sadly he didn't fit into that hip-clicky clique either.
